I had written something that was pages long, but I deleted it because who was going to read it? I guess I am just feeling a lot of things with everything that is going on & how much disappointment I feel in our countries abilities to prevent this from happening when we could see it from miles away.

Our protests
Our calls
Our cries
Our exhaustion
Our daily battles
Our attempts to stay sane
They are not seen under the shadow of the orange tree
Rooting everywhere
Rotting everything
Nor is
Our governments history
Of doing this
Of dividing us
Of wearing us down just enough
At the hands of our government
And this too is our fault
Within our country, letting that be the reason we may not have voted for someone is our fault for giving us the worst option
Outside our country, standing up by not voting for it is also not noticed because we didn't do enough
And it is not their job to protect us, ensure our basic human rights, or sustain food on our tables.
We must also be so beyond law abiding we can have no doubts as to our innocence or we shall suffer the wrath of our society
Beyond this
We feel for the imperialism, colonialism, war, and genocide
We are used to being told we have to control our rich, our politicians, our government, and our circumstances
While simultaneously being told by the rich, the politicians, and the government that they have the rights to protect themselves, bail themselves out, & be above the law
I understand you want us Americans to do something about this because we created this
We, the people of this country, are used to being blamed
Blamed for being poor and sick and the wrong color
Told we have to blame each other for our poverty, our lack of access, our diseases
I have voted against this rather than for the America I would prefer for a decade
I have contacted my representatives demanding what I want and reminding them of the wrongs being committed under their watch
But the absolute hardest part has been watching the constant inhumanity, violence, & death
Thank goodness he is focusing on the 1% making all of our lives harder.
Oh wait. That's a different 1%.
