In the lovely Lund for a guest visit to IIIEE @jlrichter.bsky.social about #CircularEconomy #Renewables and more.

Looking forward to speak about theory for facilitating sustainability transitions for a circular economy based on success cases such as the #resources and #wind industries!

Franse politica Le Pen krijgt celstraf en wordt uitgesloten van verkiezingen om fraude Ze mag daardoor niet meedoen aan de presidentsverkiezingen van 2027.

Good on the French legal system. Politicians cannot steal close to €5M & go unpunished or even become president.

Wish more countries would keep up legal boundaries like this.

It's hard but I'm glad there seems to be a solution for you!

The pain is beyond imagination of most people (good for them!). Pain management can be tricky. My body cannot handle morphine anymore😣

I focus on prevention and limiting it when a pancreatitis does start, but they can be sudden and heavy

Rachel Reeves backs Heathrow third runway in bid to drive UK growth In economic growth speech, chancellor says move would make UK ‘world’s best-connected place to do business’

Another runway in London will make zero difference for mobility in most of the UK. The issue is unreliable infrequent train connections, e.g. connecting to/from Eurostar (or airports in the North of England or London for long distances).

Hi @dondrennon.bsky.social hope you don't me responding. It's the same for me, upon entering the ER they do a blood test and urine test on lipase and amylase, which is used to confirm what's going on. I also had a genetic test as a kid which found that mine is hereditary pancreatitis.

Minimally invasive versus open lateral pancreaticojejunostomy in patients with painful chronic pancreatitis: systematic review This systematic review reports on outcomes of minimally invasive (MIS-LPJ) and open lateral pancreaticojejunostomy (LPJ) in 1286 patients with symptomatic

Hi @marcbesselink.bsky.social, I got a "page not found" but this one ought to work academic.oup.com/bjsopen/arti... Hope you don't mind!

Interesting results, though from patients perspective also slightly shocking in places. Thank you for this study.

Good on Dutch pension funds. One demanding explanation from BlackRock about leaving this #NetZero alliance, and will likely move all investments elsewhere. And another sold all shares in the man-child's EV firm.

After that, try easy to digest food. Rice, boiled veg (avoid raw), proteins.

While aspiring #vegan, during recovery proteins from milk (cottage cheese), eggs, quorn and some tofu work best in my body.

Also regular snacks, e.g. yoghurts, fruit, digestives, toast, etc.

Focusing on proteins helps to stop feeling hungry & build back muscle (since most weight lost during acute pancreatitis is muscle tissue incl. the heart).

I also think it gives essential nutrients to restore enzyme balances, but there are far smarter people on here who know about these things.

If clear fluids stay down, it's on to thicker fluids. Soups, yoghurts, porridges etc. All low fat but ideally higher in protein. Small portions at a time, and if it stays in without causing lasting pain, then have another portion after 30-60 minutes.

If it has been a severe pancreatitis, impossible to keep food and drinks in for several days, then start with clear fluids first. I find warm drinks e.g. just hot water, light teas and fruit juices (possibly watered down) easiest. Also try bouillon which is great for upping salts too.

food items that are high in fats especially will drop my pancreas back into inflammation straight away, especially during the fragile recovery period when the acute pancreatitis is still subsiding.

Here's what I do to ease my body back into healthy eating again...

NGOs welcome the reduction of Salma al-Shehab’s sentence, but continue to call for her unconditional release We welcome the recent decision by a Saudi court to reduce the jail sentence of Saudi prisoner of conscience Salma al-Shehab from 27 years to four years, with an additional four years suspended.

Relieved to hear this news. But also: we'll believe it when she is really free and safe.

One of the many things we ought to keep in mind on #ClimateChange. Not taking #ClimateAction will be a lot more expensive than investments curbing carbon emissions.
