When we take back power, I do not want unity or healing, I want revenge.
I also don't want a lecture on "but that's just like Trump, he wanted revenge." He was wrong, we are right. It's different. Get a moral compass.
Revenge or sit down. Call it "justice" if you must, it's that too.

Wow, almost like the media and journalism profession failed in some sort of professional duty to actually inform these low-engagement voters about what Trump was saying he wanted to do and the consequences of those plans.
There is a moral-failure-of-the-voters here, but it's not the only one.
Eliminating ICE is the modern equivalent of opposing the Iraq War, and right now there are two types of Democrats: those who can see where the ball is moving and go to it, and those who will be swept away because they refused to do so.
Mamdani: "I speak of Renee Good, whose final words to the man who murdered her were, 'I'm not mad at you.' I speak of Alex Pretti who died as he lived, caring for the stranger. ICE shot him bc he did something they could never fathom ... let us offer a new path: one of defiance through compassion."
im building machines that i keep saying will both throw you out of work and allow masked special police forces in service to a lunatic i bought and paid for to recognize your face and check if i agree with your beliefs. im part of a pedophile ring that put this into motion. why are you rude to me
Incrementalists take it on the chin again. This is why they hate Mamdani. He's giving up the game that people in power HAVE POWER and don't solely exist to beg you for $5 every day. He's ruining the Democratic Party by showing voters that they have the power to do stuff instead of crouching in fear
the news outlets that pushed the false, imgainary "deescalation" story are ICE's accomplices in unconstitutional tyranny
I have a generalised version of this - while there are specific exceptions, it just feels like a _huge_ proportion of the American conservative movement revealed themselves to not really care about anything? Like, nothing concrete at least. It's all just vague ressentiments around Gender and Race.
it is the same playbook everywhere. “vote for us! we will make you great again by punishing the people you hate! do not pay attention to the fact that we’re also shoveling your money into the pockets of the uber wealthy and building a giant boot to step on your face too (preferably forever)”
Incandescent rage from @moulton.house.gov
i do not know how this goes on for three more years
yes and Americans defeated every single one of those homegrown evils. we've done it before and we can do it again.
we should appeal to the better angels of our nature, to the aspirational goals embodied in our Constitution - while memorializing the evils of our past.
Lord of the rings: Merry looks into the glowing palantir orb… and screams
“Cant sleep… i’ll just have a quick look at my phone”
This is a photo of someone being tortured, not someone being restrained
at some point you have to see it as a psychological issue. the people who run this country are cowards. the media who reports on them are cowards. they have never been able to face what is happening, they are committed to a project of persuasion: pretend everything is fine and it magically will be!
i think this MLK day the thing to focus on is the strategic focus and tactical brilliance of the civil rights movement and the way it was laser focused on a set of achievable goals
The US is collapsing into fascism and going to war with Europe and the opposition party is like “I’m here to talk about the important thing: how your average grocery bill has risen by two dollars over the last year, which I also have no plan or ability to fix”
this entire presidency is so fucking stupid man
national self-immolation led by a senile pedophile because 49.8% of American voters are either fascists or dipshits
Schumer needs to be defeated as leader in January 2027.
There is real rancor in the caucus with him; this is an achievable goal.
Call your senators, ask your candidates - do not support Schumer for leader.
“Tell us where the non whites are so we can kidnap them at gunpoint” sounds like a free country to the Roberts Court
Having seen several abductions up close, it is really hard to convey how much the thing they’re doing is roaming in military convoys until they see someone who is alone and isn’t white, and then jumping out in large numbers, pulling them into a van, and screeching off, all in 90 seconds or so.
NBC headline reads: "Joe Rogan criticizes ICE tactics: 'Are we really going to be the Gestapo?' The influential podcaster, who endorsed Donald Trump in 2024, has been increasingly critical of the president’s mass deportation strategy."
I still believe most Americans are good-hearted and know that the vast majority of undocumented immigrants are not violent criminals. I don't think Trump's immigration policies are popular. I don't think most Americans are white nationalists. I worry about time lost, but have faith in the end.
“We will invade your city without permission, we will taunt you, we will kidnap and harass citizens, we will smash our way into schools and shoot tear gas at students, and if you stop to film us and we don’t like it, we will shoot you three times in the face.”
Tyranny
masked, unidentified goons who assault and murder with impunity. a literal gestapo.
People think "politics" is what you say, but politics is in fact how you wield power. In that sense, driving a car is one of the most profound ways to reveal what your actual politics are.
How people drive reveals the sickness at the heart of our society: wanting power, but not responsibility.
Mamdani: "New York will remain a city of immigrants, a city built by immigrants, powered by immigrants, and as of tonight, led by an immigrant."
SAY. THAT. SHIT!
there’s no other way to put this other than full military invasion into america
We're witnessing the most aggressive, fanatical crackdown on free speech in my lifetime. The speed and breadth of government censorship and private sector and nonprofit capitulation has been astonishing. As has the lack of urgency/silence from people who've long claimed to care about this stuff.
One thing the media's reticence to label Kirk an extremist has made jarringly clear is how scared they are of the people in power now who share his extremist beliefs.
In the space of nine months, they have internalized a fear of condemning racism, misogyny, homophobia and antisemiticism.
“awful people don’t deserve to be killed, but they don’t deserve to be praised, either” is apparently a thought too complex for the pundit mind
