Again, I don’t necessarily care that he wasn’t likable so long as he was compelling. But I didn’t think he was either. I’m not somebody who thinks every protagonist needs to be sunshine and rainbows with no flaws, not remotely. But they have to have something for me to be invested in.

So I didn’t, but my partner did and he said he enjoyed it better. He felt like it was a similar premise, but executed more effectively. IIRC it’s the same screenwriter? Could be wrong about that, though. I’d have to look it up.
