Proposal: when someone says “I got Chat GPT to do this” we should look at them the same way we would if they’d said “Look! Everybody! Look! I just shat my pants!” Think this would be effective as a social sanction and beneficial in the long term.

Given the party's refusal to act on Pochin's brazen racism, it should be as socially unacceptable to vote for Reform as it was in the early 2000s to vote for the BNP.

And we should be prepared to say this to people's faces.

If you’re living through a cost of corporate greed crisis which is leading to record child poverty, watching the US be dragged towards dictatorship, genocide in Gaza and war crimes in Ukraine and the thing that ‘drives you mad’ is seeing melanated people in adverts then …. You’re Sarah Pochin.

They are very much at the 'saying the quiet part out loud stage', anyone who votes for them knows exactly who they are putting a cross next to.

Lets make different political choices says Zack Polanski.

Like taxing billionaires instead of blaming poor people.

Zack Polanski AM, new leader of the Green Party of England & Wales, hits out at "charlatans like Nigel Farage and Reform's millionaires pretending to serve working class communities - but who are actually backed by the same billionaires who are destroying our democracies [and] our communities."

Shame at his age that Micheal Eavis has to move out of his farm house, but it can't be helped, Rebecca Lucy Taylor now owns Glastonbury #SelfEsteem #Glasto

Transphobia is no more "acceptable" than any other form of bigotry, and I continue to be absolutely astounded, shocked, and revolted that otherwise "liberal" people think otherwise.

What do they want transgender people to do? Hide away?
Pretend they don't exist?

Deeply strange entering middle-age at a time in world history where things are getting measurably worse. Just a continual psychic struggle of “is this fogeyism or are things just not what they used to be?”

The people I knew who vanished soon after college, in the early 1990s, to go smoke weed and grow their own food in rural Vermont—which seemed like a bizarre withdrawal from society at the time—were 100% right and prescient.

Much like The Beatles*, the Hitchens are very much dying in the wrong order.

*this is a joke; everything after the asterix I am deadly serious about. Can we not make neurospiciness a culture war issue? I am begging you alll

A square canvas. Only the top corner is filled with Harings distinctive figures, rendered in Lavender, the rest is blank.

Keith Haring died of AIDS aged 31 on 16 Feb 1990.
One of his last works, Unfinished Painting, was deliberately incomplete, reflecting the devastating, unquantifiable loss to the arts due to AIDS.

Luigi Mangione in orange jumpsuit in the center of the frame, flanked by law enforcement officers, his hands are clasped and bound in front of him he looks off to the side pensively, seriously does this guy just not photograph poorly at all?

"Okay, get some snaps of that Mangione character, but you better not pull any bullshit where he looks like the subject in a 16th century painting called 'Christ taken at the Garden of Gethsemane'."
"Okay, now don't be mad but..."

Christmas time is great because you can shout,
"Don't come in here" and people assume you're
wrapping their presents instead of just wanting
to be left alone.

Still blows my mind that Billie Joe Armstrong managed to combine fronting Green Day with playing Hayley Cropper on Corrie. When on earth did he sleep?

Nice little thread on the Millennium Dome - although nothing could ever quite capture what a truly bonkers visitor experience it was.

a golden retriever sits smiling in the front passenger seat of a car. the window is rolled down just a couple of inches. blue skies with puffy clouds and some happy little trees are in the background. it’s a totally normal photo of a golden in a car, minus the fact that the tongue sticking out of her mouth is bright blue.

you’re peering down into a styrofoam cup that was in a car’s cupholder. it is mostly empty but has some blue slushie way down at the bottom with a mysteriously tongue-shaped hole carved through the ice in one spot. the back of a golden retriever’s head is visible in the upper right corner of the photo. the dog may or may not be avoiding eye contact.

This is Lily. She's been accused of drinking her mom's slushie. Will not be taking any questions at this time. 14/10

If someone were to write an Athletic style deep dive taking us through a blow-by-blow account of Lawrie McMenemy’s involvement in this and then paywalled it…I would pay A LOT to read it.
