A very cool turtle, green topped shell, yellow and red markings you can't really see and his / her head pulled in so it's hard to make out the face.

I met this Eastern Painted Turtle, turned her around and followed her AWAY from the highway until it felt safe. These turtles seem to have a migratory instinct that makes them return over and over to lay eggs in the sme place. We raised one a while back and it would come to the yard every year.
