Starlings are beyond plentiful but to me that doesn't negate their beauty.
They come through Central PA in DROVES and both my cat and I love sitting by the window to watch them in the yard. This is one of my favorite shots I managed to capture. I don't remember which camera I used though 😿

This is possibly the best photo of a Starling I have ever seen. Just an absolutely stunning shot

Pay attention y’all. We have a white man who celebrated his victory too early, and got beat by a black man who sprinted to the finish line. And all the major news outlets are talking about how the white man lost. “Upset” “win stolen” no coverage from the winners perspective. Let that sink in.

HUGE WIN! H.R. 1897 the bill that would have gutted Endangered Species Act protections for threatened and endangered species has been pulled from today’s House floor vote. Your calls and pressure worked. Thank you for speaking up.

DENMARK AND FRANCE 🇩🇰🇫🇷 bans all Microsoft products from all public offices.

The phaseout is expected to be completed before autumn 2026.

Their products are being replaced with customer versions of Linux and LibreOffice.

This is digital sovereignty being taken back

I often think about Voyager 1 and 2. Humanity managed to send *two* spacecraft into interstellar space - the vast expanse between stars.

AND WE'RE STILL RECEIVING DATA FROM THEM.

Imagine what we could do now with a funded space science program!

Where is this peace?
It's not in Gaza.
It's not in Iran.
It's not in Lebanon.
It's not in the United States.
It's not with the farmers.
It's not with the tech bros.
It's not with the cis white men.
it's not with the homeless vets.

He is the president of deceit, dishonor, and division.

We really gotta stop arguing with the people who have lived experiences when all we have are data and statistics, *if even that*.

You don't get to disagree with someone's lived experiences. Like that's just not an option, and trying to do so makes you look pretty awful.

CPTSD from childhood and years in retail gave me a "have to be polite or I'll get in trouble" mindset. Recently I encountered an LDS missionary. He asked if I wanted to go to church with him (literally first thing) and I said no thank you. He pressed on and I just said "no means no" and turned away.

So much false equivalence in media on gerrymandering in Texas vs California & Virginia. California and Virginia maps approved by the voters. That's a huge difference not enough people pointing out

When I was a kid I remember my cousins rough housing in my grandparent's living room, hearing someone yell "watch the console!" right before my cousin fell and slammed his head into the corner of one of these.

Back in my day, TVs broke kids, not the other way around 😹😹😹😹

There's only one perfect photo for this year's Earth Day, and it's this one that the Artemis II crew took. Happy Earth Day.

How far we've fallen. Now we can't even be bothered to sort through notifications?

If you don't think they're important just......turn them off? I genuinely don't get it.

We're literally hemorrhaging executive function in this country.

Google having a celebration of Earth day whilst building massive data centers for AI and wasting stupid amounts of eneergy and water is sick. And not in the good way.

So while I was raised in PA and have lived here my entire adult life, I was actually born in Virginia (NAVY dad) so I'm feeling VERY THRILLED AND PROUD of Virginia for their win today!!!

After France, Denmark is moving too: its Digitalisation Ministry plans to phase out Microsoft, switching to Linux and LibreOffice in the coming months. The goal is clear—reduce dependence on a handful of global tech giants and strengthen digital sovereignty.
