Reading “Born In Blackness”
I am not a learned woman (started working young) but I have learned some things in the university of my world.
@hofrench.bsky.social whew the elision is real.
Sadly underappreciated.
It is my understanding that Columbia University quietly killed its own research efforts into its ties to slavery.
A profoundly moral and eloquent statement by a former French PM. Dominique de Villepin, on Europe's unlearned lessons from its imperial past, channeling Aimé Césaire. in the original.
Thanks. And good luck, Max!

Really, WaPo?
I am broken-hearted at the terrible news that my alma mater, @hampshirecollege.bsky.social, after 56 yrs, is closing. Its death is a victory for conformism, for corporatism, for higher education's dull love of hierarchy & status. It's a grievous defeat for imagination & experimentation.
