I needed to think of this first so I could justify Relko and Volkes appearances. Theres normal humans, except for those who are direct descendents of the gods. Theyre distinct. I was imagining Volke with pointy ears that have a cool translucent bug-like appearance, + fly-like eye that he covers

Anyway the incest is what causes one of them to give birth to a lowly bastard godling of sorts, which is prohibited by the higher gods, so theyre punished somehow idk I havent thought that far ahead yet... things happen.. but the godling is what gives way to life (humanity) on one of the planets

They can also connect with each other and come into a "mind space" of sorts where they inhabit human bodies (similar to how they look in 14) When theyre in there, their outward insect bodies would go into stasis, they cant feel anything normally but in the mind space their senses are "unlocked"

Their outward appearance is slightly humanoid but mostly insect-aligned. They'd live amongst the stars and planets, being able to each inhabit their own stars and treat them as their "homes". They have weird little tendrils that would come out of their heads to connect with the stars

My idea is Atreus, Thyestes, and Relkos Az/em (Orestes) are actually all godly siblings (though I would rename them to something more suitable for the world) and theyre like tall, spindly, insectoid/alien lesser gods that have wings similar to flies.

+ I hesitate to talk more abt Volke and Relkos relationship bc theyre outwardly male and female, and fandom ppl get a little funky when you talk abt toxic het ships. Not to be "let men be masculine" but ppl dont take het ships seriously, they always need watered down into tropes for easy consumption

Its just frustrating... Volke has a dark story and a troubling past and theres many others with "problematic" male ocs that ppl shower with love. But I feel hesitant to show that with a female character bc of the double standards, it makes ppl uncomfortable when its a woman with similar dark themes

But her sexual fantasies are more opposite to him. Where he wants to conquer, she wants to be conquered and used. To be taken against her will, that would make her happiest. Yet I hesitate to voice such things about her character because she is a woman, whereas Id feel less wary if she were a man

I gave her an equally terrible childhood to Volke where she was beaten and assaulted by her father on the regular and then conscripted into the empire. She has flaws that make her very unlikable/unbearable to be around at times. Shes hypocritical and her own worst enemy (like Volke).

is it really so bad of me to say I want to beat Relko up and sexually torture her much in the same way I want to do so with Volke because I love her so much. I feel like yeah it should be okay for me to say that but also people are weird abt female characters in fandom lol (even tho shes my oc)

Im not like some cinephile or anything, im pretty casual when it comes to movies, but like... just watch some weird artsy bullshit movie and youll understand what makes a movie scene creatively striking and memorable and how to make your comics feel slightly more "cinematic".

Note how the dialogue isnt paragraphs of text where 1 person is talking nonstop. Theres breaks with each shot, building up more and more as the convo continues. You will overwhelm the viewer with a giant block of text out of nowhere, and it feels unnatural for 1 person to speak ceaselessly like that

Also note how theyre positioned. The composition is also important to make it look visually interesting/appealing (rule of thirds upon ye) + Im not reusing the same shot over and over with new dialogue. Even this one where Faustus is the sole speaker, I zoom into his face more for dramatic effect.

Like this vv I didnt do a shot of Volke standing up bc I trust the viewer to understand hes stood up and is walking to Faustus (bc Faustus tells him to stand and walk over) We dont need unnecessary bloat, have trust that the people looking at your comics are intelligent enough to fill in the blanks

For me, I usually imagine my comics as actual scenes with voices, sound, editing, etc etc in my mind. So when Im figuring out angles and composition, each pic is a diff shot in the "movie". I try to make it flow how a movie scene would, without being too "fluffed up".
