I deliberately bought a ton of Speedpaints so I could introduce my son to painting... He will be painting orcs that I could make decent money for on eBay from a WHFB starter box but some things are far more important

We had been on a day out and went for food... We call it tea but in the US it's called dinner.

He is a constant reminder of happiness and how children grow... He loves sharing his achievements (his monster truck beat mine in the hallway race) but he can show shame when he does wrong. We couldn't have designed him better if we had the choice... Trite but trur

Thanks... His mum might have helped... In a way... Massively... I was in the background... Honestly, we raise him to be polite, kind, honest... The rest we are making up as we go along

If she did my son never got there because he was too full of cake to make the journey

They happen all the time... Most are too tired to celebrate them... Given the state of the world, I don't blame them. It's hard to look for the positive if you look at the news... I just decided to share one thing that made me, and my son, happy because it made me happy

They don't... I just don't think we celebrate them enough

Thank you... I hope my son is the reflection of my best parts in the same way. He is better than me in every single way and I love him unconditionally... I believe that is intertwined and all I can do is guide him, praise his success and support him when he falls

It really does... She had no reason to buy my son cake other than to recognise he was a good lad... In a world where you can do anything, she chose kindness and that's a wonderful thing

They are... My son loved it, a little less so than the lady who bought him the cake who loved being so generous

It's so easy to let the world drag you down... But little things can travel a long way. My son grounds me, delights me, loves me and frustrates me every day and I cannot imagine a world without him

Cheers to us parents who raise kids to just be decent, fun, polite, inquisitive and, above all else, free to be just kids

Random acts of kindness can mean so much... It just makes the world a healthier place

Thank you... I don't know if I am a nice person, I am just the best i can be and am trying to raise my son to be just that. He amazes, astounds, bewilders and frustrates me daily so hopefully I am doing ok

It is amazing when others recognise the good in others... Terry Pratchett (my favourite author since I was 11) wrote a lot about morality, being kind, doing the right thing and being a "gentle man" rather than being a "gentleman". I am just trying to pass on those values

All I want him to be is the best he can be for himself and others... Kind, compassionate, articulate, brave and, importantly, wrong at times and learn from it

I did have a huge smile... My son did too, full of cake

It really does... In a world where you can be anything, be kind. My son was very grateful and did his best to eat it all despite it being roughly the size of a small moon.

My son had chocolate cake bought for him by a lovely lady in the pub where we had tea because he was a "lovely lad"... In a world where shit seems to be occurring by the second that was a lovely gesture... I am a proud dad

Our family dog died 26 years ago... After the grieving my mum simply stated she would never go through that again as we lost a "part of our family". You do what's best for you and yours and ignore those who think they know what's best for you

My son holding my hand at any point that isn't crossing the road

A tender headbutt from one of my cats when she wants a scritch and when the other jumps on my chest when I get in bed for the same

Reading a Discworld book

Waking up before my wife and making sure she gets a lie in

My son painted his first "mini" today (edging by his dad)... Dragon Blaster painted with @thearmypainter.bsky.social Fanatics because the paints that came with it were not worthy. Incredibly proud of him... Hopefully the first mini of many #wepaintminis #minipainting #nerdlings

More goodies by @thearmypainter.bsky.social arrived today. Hopefully the weather holds out tomorrow and I might actually get the chance to use them if priming is doable #nerdlings #minipainting

My map was "borrowed" by a GW staff member for a campaign he was running at his house... I remember seeing it on the wall of his games room then it vanished. The house in question was a hive of scum and villainy... Never nod off was a standing rule

Many thanks... I like to think Drainspotting would be set in a rough northern town and be utterly bleak... Probably my home town tbh
