It’s funny that my romance anime/manga renaissance period coincides with my real-life personal equivalent from getting to know each other to living the married life.
lol sometimes I feel like my story is the plot of a rom-com manga

My wife joked about the fact that the lead couple is Suzuki, a pink haired girl (referring to Bocchi the Rock) and Tani, a quiet glasses wearing boy (her type).
So many cute and relatable moments.
Speaking of, Suzuki is voiced by Suzushiro Sayumi who voiced Nijika in BtR and she is hilarious.
All eight volumes of the manga “You and I Are Polar Opposites” by Kocha Agasawa in Thai.
Never have I bought the whole manga set to read so quickly after watching the first episode. Lucky me that all eight volumes have already been published in Thai.
So happy that there will be a Season 2 airing in July that will cover the latter half of the manga.
The OP and ED for “You and I Are Polar Opposites” has been stuck in my head because I’m rewatching it again. I really enjoy this show’s cast of characters and their friendship, how relationships develop awkwardly but healthily, the upbeat music and expressive art style that brings the manga to life.
Spokane Street Railway's original horse-drawn streetcar, ca. 1888
#OnThisDay in 1888, Spokane's first streetcar took its inaugural trip from downtown to Browne's Addition. historylink.org/File/8087
I looked at the maps and schedules again. There is direct service between downtown and the college using Route 34 (www.intercitytransit.com/bus-system-r...). The 34 is a branch of the 9X to Hawks Prairie so now students in Lacey can ride all the way without transferring at OTC.

I’m talking about the maps, not the service.
I like those airplane “bing bongs”.
If you love sound design you’ll love Japan. They’ve elevated the art form to iconic status from beeps to melodies to fully recorded compositions. I mean my Zojirushi rice cooker plays Twinkle Twinkle Little Star when I press start.

Aaaaanyway, where did all the crime and disorder on LA Metro come from?

Things really went downhill since the pandemic.
“‘Once you have one major breach, others will follow and you quickly descend into a state of legal chaos,’ said Jason Chuah, professor of commercial and maritime law…’It’s extremely sad. International law seems to be at a breaking point in the Persian Gulf.’” www.wsj.com/world/middle...
Looks like they prioritized the local identity of each (30s for west Oly, 70s for Lacey) and 77/78 are practically giant one-way loops that are nearly mirrors of each other
It is not credited but based on the style I’m going to guess that the maps are a Jarrett Walker & Associates production.

Worn old Kindle with buttons displaying a book on the Bangkok kitchen
Still using a Kindle 4 that’s like fifteen years old. Amazon may be ending support but I installed custom software that makes it easier to read other ebook formats like ePub and comics without the trouble of format conversion.
Only concern is a factory reset will brick the device.
The restaurant sticker shock and withdrawal (no such restaurant exists or serves it even if you had the means) after coming back to the US inspires me to become a home chef to cook up all those meals.
Take for example Ootoya, a Japanese set meal chain with 316 locations in Japan, has 45 locations in greater Bangkok (some also special concept stores) and only 4 in the US, all in NYC.
Plus numerous other chains from Japan and homegrown chains, just in the Japanese food segment.
Thailand’s food service is highly competitive, more than anything I’ve ever seen in the US, with endless choices from street food to fine dining. This NHK report reminds me that we go out for Japanese food a few times a week there. There are so many choices even people in LA or NYC can only dream of

where the heck are you putting the 25 new stations!? No map, no list, just a vague “low-income areas” description.

Context: There’s this weird thing happening on Twitter right now where automatic translation is causing a super cool cultural exchange between Japanese speakers and Americans. People are going back and forth sharing their meals and it’s delightful.
I’ve rarely seen anything like this on Bluesky.
The local municipality hosting that station is hostile to transit and was successful at kneecapping bus-rail integration by limiting bus volumes and where they can go. When the bridge across the lake was built they got a sweet deal that allowed their SOVs to use the HOV express lanes (now tracks).
