Lovely!

Mine wasn't alone on 12/04, though it usually is. I give it some dog food too a couple of times a week. ๐งก ๐ฆ

My Apple Tree (Discovery) is looking good, and there's the lovely sound of many pollinating Bees when you get near to it! My garden definitely benefits from being completely natural, with no pesticides/herbicides or other chemicals having been used here for a very long time.
Garden wildflowers. Forget-Me-Nots with Dandelions, some other small blue flowers, possibly Speedwell, but I'm not sure, and also with Dandelions, the last of the Lesser Celandines, and finally some Bluebells, though probably not the native UK ones.
Trail hunting is a smokescreen.
It has been used time and again to mask the continued chasing and killing of wild animals. The law was meant to protect them, but loopholes are still being exploited.
The government is consulting on the future of hunting laws. Respond: https://leagueacs.co.uk/IKMI9

Sutton Peregrines. The juvenile male cruising around this morning, and the adult male perched on the south east corner of the lift block, back on guard duty having just fairly aggressively chased off a Carrion Crow that came too close! #londonbirds

An incubation changeover between two Peregrine Falcons in a nest box on the top of an office building. The female is leaving the box and the male is about to go into it. Their four eggs can be seen.
Morden Peregrines. We're now two weeks into incubation, and all is going well. Today, the male did about 6 hours in 3 shifts. The third image shows the female reacting to a likely intruder. She'd only just gone on the eggs, then came off them and went quite quickly. #londonbirds

A rescued Feral Pigeon in a cardboard box.
A rescued Feral Pigeon in a hutch at a rehabbers' house.
I was walking home through the alley by St. Nicholas Church, Sutton, when a guy stopped me and asked if I knew what to do with an injured bird. This Feral Pigeon was apparently unable to fly but otherwise seemed okay. Took it home in a carrier bag, then later to a local rehabber.
3/3. and Male to Female. The juvenile can be seen flying off from the rail too.
2/3. Juvenile to male,
Sutton Peregrines. 1/3. We're now 2 weeks into incubation and it seems to be going okay. The juvenile has continued to be very keen on incubating, and usually ends up doing several shifts totalling most days of around 5hrs. Here are 3 of the 14 changeovers from today, Female to Juvenile,

Garden birding. I used to see a pair of Jackdaws visiting my bird feeders most days, but I've not seen them for a while. So, it was good to see this one today. #londonbirds

Local birding. Pretty sure these were a couple of possibly young Stock Doves in trees by the side of the Sutton Station car park yesterday morning. If so, it's the first time I've seen one here. #londonbirds

A Fox sitting in my garden. There is a Japanese Maple (Acer) in front of it, and behind it grass with various other plants including Forget-Me-Nots, Dandelions and Iris. Photo taken by phone through the living room window.
Garden wildlife. I'm trying to not let the Foxes that visit become too tame for their own safety, but this one is making that very difficult! #londonwildlife #FoxOfTheDay

Garden wildlife. A short while ago I removed a spider egg sac from a neighbour's recycling bin where it would not have survived. I kept it in a small pot in my garage, and on Saturday some had hatched (all now released). Possibly Megalepthyphantes sp.- not sure. @britishspiders.bsky.social

Morden Peregrines. While the male was incubating this morning he was treated to the spectacle of a couple of Feral Pigeons having a fairly full on fight that lasted over 10 minutes. Probably lucky for them that the female didn't return at that point!

A female Peregrine Falcon incubating her eggs in a nest box on the roof of an office building. She's distracted by a couple of Feral Pigeons on the metal tracking/cables in front of her - I don't think she can see the third Pigeon on the cable behind the box, though she'll know its there.
Morden Peregrines. We're now a week into incubation, and the new male is behaving exactly as you'd hope. He's done about 4h 50m today (screenshots of him starting one of them here), in 2 shifts (plus one of only 10mins). And they often have visitors to brighten their day - these from yesterday.
3/3. Adult female reclaiming her eggs from the juvenile.
2/3. Juvenile male pushing his mother off the eggs.
Sutton Peregrines. 1/3. There was another change last night in that the juvenile male sat on the eggs for about 20 mins, having evicted his father. His mother then moved him off. He's been on them again for a short while today, moving his mother off at one point. Interesting times.
