What I love about X-ray crystallography is how it feels like something out of a sci-fi movie

Never underestimate the impact your writing can have. One minute you're dispute moldy popcorn as the cause of a vivid ghost sighting. The next minute, the publicly funded podcast making the claim doubles down on the claim.

ADM Brian Christine, MD @ADM_Christine For years, men with Low T had nowhere to turn. That ends with @DrMakaryFDA. The @US_FDA is expanding treatment options for idiopathic hypogonadism. Using gold standard science to get real results for American men. (The two men are pictured.)
Testosterone has been FDA-approved since 1953.
Rx’s can be obtained easily online, and cause severe adverse effects when used inappropriately.
“Low T” is not a medical diagnosis; it is a wellness influencer term.
The only “expanded treatment option” they’re pursuing is literally just low libido.
Hell yeah, a fellow tank potato fan
Like a lot of bad ideas, I can only assume someone went: "Wouldn't it be cool if you could X" and then didn't think beyond that
My big takeaway from reporting this story is that it's not JUST about the Forest Service.
The closure of these stations threatens to upend a delicate system of mutually beneficial collaboration and resource sharing, and the impacts will ripple out far beyond the Forest Service itself.
It's a black and white paper header for a short communication, and I've copied the text below. Please stop reading if you don't want the literal copy to be read to you. "Naturwissenschaften (2003) 90:495–500 DOI 10.1007/s00114-003-0473-9 SHORT COMMUNICATION B. M. Rothschild · D. H. Tanke · M. Helbling · L. D. Martin Epidemiologic study of tumors in dinosaurs Received: 16 June 2003 / Accepted: 29 August 2003 / Published online: 14 October 2003 Springer-Verlag 2003"
One of the amazing things about science is we will never run out of mysteries.
Take "Naturwissenschaften (2003) 90:495–500", which performed a survey of 10,000 dinosaur fossils for evidence of tumors in the bone.
I was prepared for yes, no, but what I wasn't prepared for was:
"only in hadrosaurs."
Only 90's kids remembers Inkie the Radical Cuttlefish from the game series of the same name! This design is specifically from Inkie 3D, the first 3D game in the series. As nod to that, the devs switched Inkie's iconic sunglasses with 3D glasses.
(Also, this is just really neat science)
Such a stupid fucking line. It means nothing and it's fucking wild thing to say in a doctor's office. Being a doctor is literally going "Haha. No. We aren't doing that this time" to nature..
Good to hear that it sounds like you managed to get one step closer to HRT
A screenshot of an instagram story that says “you’re telling me a fat licked this bread?” Over a photo of a deleted gar and the heel of a baguette

Wait till she finds out about breaking a mirror
Knowing the other shit she has said and believes, the answer is no, she doesn't think that, because she doesn't think in general
800,000 people who died because of the lack of lifesaving food and medical aid were unavailable for comment.
That's right, I'm vibe coding my own dictionary using an in-house glucose-powered wetware computer with 30+ years of training on continuously gathered data 😛
What the tech bros are doing doesn't even feel like it fits the connotations of the word imo. Taking supplements and tracking things with an app isn't hacking anything.. The stuff under the DIY Biology umbrella fits the vibe of it way better
A full disc image of Earth, as seen from the Orion Crew Module. The planet is a pale blue, swirling with white clouds and glowing slightly lighter blue in place from reflected light. At lower left, a large brown landmass is Africa, with Spain and Portugal with twinkling lights where the planet curves. At top right, auroras glow in a thin green glow, just barely separated from the planet's surface. Earth is set against the black of space (pic: NASA/R.Wiseman)
More context on this #Artemis II image:
* This is the night side, lit by moonlight. You can see city lights in Spain & Portugal, & a sliver of day at lower right
* The Sun is entirely behind Earth, which makes it a kind of solar eclipse, but w/ Earth doing the eclipsing instead of the Moon:

Unmonitored use of antibiotics is such a bad idea it’s hard to really articulate.
I’ve taken care of people who died from UTIs, not because it wasn’t caught in time, but because there are no antibiotics left that would kill their bacteria. I’m not unique. This is happening more and more.
i’m going to put my head through the drywall
I would assume polyploidy being very common in plants plays a role here
This is amazing! Even if it never turns into an actual treatment, having an antibody that HIV can't escape is just nuts and useful. As thread explains, HIV mutates so fast that infected people basically end up continually catching new strains from themselves

Zeno's Achilles and the Tortoise Paradox: Anyways, so the tortoise gets a head start.
How did the tortoise get ahead, Zeno? How did it move?
Format Laboratory II: Toasted Formats
The next format should just be pitching formats at Chris to see if he can break them
THIS IS WHAT WE WANT!
This fish has cloned itself for 100,000 years. Scientists just figured out how.
Amazon mollies don't need a man, and never will. A new study finds they can purge and repair genetic mutations that would otherwise plague a self-cloning species. 🧪 🦑 🌍️ 🐟️
Not part of a complete breakfast, or a partial one for that matter
This is a WIN for science.
RFK Jr’s overhaul of vaccine recommendations has been BLOCKED by a federal court. The ACIP committee cannot meet as planned this week, since its membership has been invalidated, and ALL votes made by those advisers in the last year have also been invalidated.
