A Letter to Those Who Still Give a Damn It’s exhausting to give a damn, isn’t it?

It’s exhausting to give a damn, isn’t it?

To be a person of compassion in a time and place when compassion is in such great demand?

Day after day, these legions of sorrows begin to take up residence in your body...

The U.S. Is Funding Fewer Grants in Every Area of Science and Medicine (Gift Article) A quiet policy change means the government is making fewer bets on long-term science.

This is how you undermine a nation, whether quietly or in plain sight. It will take decades to repair the damage and for the United States to regain its standing in science, if that ever happens.

Alert: The Trump administration is quietly slashing new NIH grant awards, and it's not via the budget NIH’s sudden move to multiyear grant funding is forcing shocking cuts in the number of grants funded. This is an effective budget cut. It's bad, folks.

This explains the drop in NOA for new and competitive grants

My bank balance in the negatives

a vulnerable post from me, but i am in the negatives, mostly from getting new tires for my car, groceries and such.

if you’re able to help a struggling grad student, it would mean the world to me. even if you can’t give, a repost will do

If the House passes this bill, it will increase costs and hurt working class families for generations to come. Call your representative today and tell them to vote no on this bill.

The good news for today, scientifically speaking for vision research is that the NEI appears to have survived the budget reconciliation process in the House. And the NIH budget was not decreased.

This still has to go to the Senate, but the National Eye Institute still lives in the House bill...

Donald Trump is attacking Harvard for refusing to carry out his political agenda. Now, innocent students are caught in the crossfire.

Harvard is right to fight back.

But this isn't just about Harvard — anyone who crosses Trump could be punished. It's a threat to all of us.
