A beautiful linoprint of a medicine lady under a tree, with her trusted familiar

Witch, hare and herbs linoprint by my mum, Jo, from my short story collection Help The Witch (now republished by Swift Press after a period out of print due to the Unbound disaster).

Lovely of Richard to say this but I’m sure he must be lying here because someone else popped in to tell me it’s not funny and they seemed to be a person who is very sure about the rightness of their opinions about everything.

A reminder to the news media: “conflicting accounts” is what you say BEFORE the incontrovertible video evidence appears. After that, your job is to ask why one side is lying, not to repeat the lie and pretend no one knows the truth.

A lovely mossy boulder with a face. I walked past this venerable stone gentleman on Dartmoor when I was beginning to write my first novel, Villager, and it whispered all 104,000 words of the book to me. So now I have to pay it all of my royalties. Unfortunately my ex-publisher stopped paying me royalties last year. Understandable, the boulder was not happy. But now I have a new publisher and the book is being republished this Thursday. So remember if you purchase a copy you will be helping a boulder to eat, pay the rent on his riverside moss garden, and feed his boulder family.

Yes it could be argued that keeping up with world events is important but alternatively can I interest you in hugging an ancient mossy boulder that looks like a face and quietly listening while it tells you stories from centuries cloaked in mist.

The actual British Library sign, where one word is up font and the other is down font. Truly upsetting

To fully check what specific Venn Diagram section we’re in, does this actual sign do to you what it does to me?

POV: you are so locked into a modern first-person identity bubble that for the set up to any piece of ‘content’, you need to be offered a three letter cue to try and imagine yourself somewhere else and in someone else’s mind before starting to take in story data.
