My daughter told me and then I googled it and found a bunch of articles online. I put dishes in the dishwasher because I couldn’t stand them piled in the sink, but I didn’t start it, so I figured no actual cleaning was done. Agree it can’t be worse than 2025.

I was all set to do laundry and clean the kitchen when it was brought to my attention it’s bad luck to clean or do laundry on New Year’s Eve or day. So now I’m just going to level a few more toons in WoW Lemix.

I feel like I could get a PhD in “How to Fold a Fitted Sheet” and I would still turn out sad, misshapen lumps.

I like the mechanic where permadeath occurs if you fail to listen to your cohort’s warnings and get everyone killed. There should be consequences for that more often.

It was so dark and I was so tired. I checked the time to see if it was bedtime. It was 6:30pm.

While existing Witches and Wizards ran alts to kill players trying to level. It was SO much fun. My group of friends worked as a team to get us all to Wiz level. So permadeath can be amazing IMO.

I used to play a game on Compuserve called British Legends. It was the American port of Richard Bartle’s original MUD. Anyway, permadeath was a big part of the game as players tried to survive long enough to make “Witch” or “Wizard” and achieve immortality… 1/2

As far as helping New World, I didn’t feel our original server needed merging. It was plenty active and populated. I think an analysis of the existing server personalities to find good matches would have been more helpful than the random merging they did.

And yet, I just returned to LOTRO after a couple of years away. All the existing servers were merged into just a very few. The server where I landed is great, with lots of lovely, helpful people. I not only didn’t turn off world chat, I feel comfortable participating in it. Such a difference!

I loved New World in beta and after release. We had a great guild and a real community of people and guilds that worked together to fend off the large invasions. It was a lot of fun. Then they merged servers, creating a new, toxic culture on the result. It wasn’t fun anymore, so I left.

Great analogy. I expected quicksand around every corner as a child. 70+ years later, I’ve never encountered it.

I was just scrolling through Bluesky thinking how much more interesting and upbeat it was tonight than usual, when I suddenly realized I was in the Game Narrative and Writing tab instead of a more general tab with all the depressing politics. I think I’ll stay here.

Why Can't We Just Listen Telling them their concerns instead of listening to their concerns

They tell voters what they should be concerned about. They don’t bother to listen to what they are concerned about. We are trying to force a narrative on people who only need to look around or check their bank account to see what concerns them.
