And the writing is more detailed, technical, and I also find it more... mature ?

It's okay, nothing special.

Too many references to WoW gameplay pulled me out of the story, especially that awful part about the orc warlocks summoning imps and succubus... we got it just like in the game... 😂

I started reading again this year, beginning with The Witcher saga because I'm a huge fan, and now that I've finished (and loved it) I've bought all the Warcraft books I've never read. It's a lot of books, but I'm motivated! 😂

And I started chronologically with Rise of the Horde

😡 My only regret is the replacement of our French voice actors... without listing them, they have almost all been replaced.

🙏 I hope the next patch will be good; as it stands, I can't be satisfied with Midnight, but with two good future patches, it might be okay.

And most importantly, I'm having fun with the game.

👍The Mythic+ raids and dungeons are enjoyable to run.

👍The outdoor activities are decents.

👍And artistically, as is almost always the case, I find the expansion magnificent; the atmosphere of the zones is good.

But thankfully there are some positives.

👍Zul'Aman is great, and the Amani lore is generally respected.

👍Harandar, although the community doesn't like it, is a pleasant surprise, and the Haranirs are well-developed. I like what they did with the Lightbloom storyline.

👎Eversong is truly disappointing; they have nothing to say to the Blood Elves.

👎Arator's quest is a disaster.

👎The reunification of the elves, which was sold as the campaign's climax, is botched.

👎Sylvanas's return is completely irrelevant and just there for fan service.

As is often the case, the content is good but the execution is poor, even mediocre.

With more mature writing, the Midnight campaign could have been brilliant.

But, as is so often the case, they are incapable of it.

On the other hand, dissolving the Silver Covenant wasn't necessary... that's completely stupid.

And please, shut up Aethas, you could have avoided this purge but you did nothing.

I wouldn't be as vindictive as the community regarding Umbric's return to Silvermoon and the Treaty of Silversun

For once, the fact that characters aren't forced to be friends like in Dragonflight, but that there's a peace treaty during a time of great need for Azeroth's defense, doesn't bother me

Phenomenal leveling campaign? That's a bit of an exaggeration. I haven't finished the high-level campaign yet, but while leveling, only ZA and Harandar are good, Eversong and Voidstorm are decent, but Arator's quest is truly awful

But I mostly agree about the HL campaign and the ending cinematic

I'll point out the negatives, but there are positives too. As I said, Zul'Aman and Harandar were pleasant surprises, and I'm having a lot of fun with the start of this expansion. But the lore matters to me, and I can't ignore it.

I apologize if I'm being a bit harsh, but my disappointment with the expansion I was most looking forward to in the trilogy is immense.

I struggle with the rewriting of certain historical points and am very disappointed by some of the justifications, which, to me, are simply not credible.

The fact that in 🇫🇷 almost all the voice actors we've known for years have been replaced and the use of AI doesn't help either, but I'm really very disappointed with this MSQ. 😞

I won't even mention the side quests, which give me the impression of a return to DF and its quests written by children...

I just finished the March on Quel'Danas raid and after seeing the ending cinematic, I don't know what to think... it's just fan service and it concludes, for me, a really poor campaign in terms of writing. Zul'Aman & Harandar somewhat redeems it, but overall it's very creatively weak.
