Over the past few days, my Facebook feed has been flooded with pro-russian and pro-MAGA posts. I don’t use Facebook often, and my feed was never like this before. I’m convinced this isn’t a coincidence—we’re entering a new era of controlled media.

I’d rather lose access to TikTok than see one of the most powerful tools for social transformation strike a deal with someone who attempted to undermine democracy.

A big upside to the TikTok ban is that it could stop Russia from spreading propaganda and stirring up division and hate in the U.S. like it did before.

If Trump succeeds in reversing the TikTok ban, his actions against democratic institutions will be overshadowed as he positions himself as a champion of free speech and democracy. Another way for him to manipulate Americans!

From 2022-2023, the country of Georgia saw 3 mass protest waves, each drawing hundreds of thousands despite government violence. In contrast, over a decade of dictatorship and 3 years of war, russia had just two protests, maxing out at 10K. Reflect on this when judging russian opposition to putin.
