Along the way, Joe found critical support at MidAmerica Rehabilitation Hospital, where therapists helped him rebuild strength and relearn everyday skills, and from prosthetist Keaton Young of Hanger Clinic, who created custom solutions and guided him through every stage of the process.
Joe’s life changed in an instant after an accident led to the loss of both legs. After more than a year of surgeries and rehab, he was ready for prosthetics, until insurance denied coverage. That’s when Steps stepped in, approving his application in 3 days and helping him take his first steps again.
