For context, crowdstrike estimates that the entire global revenue of ransomware outfits in the whole of 2024 was $800m. Cybercrime is so incredibly destructive.
Any character encoding experts in? I have some programming examples on my website that use Unicode characters - any ideas why they appear correctly when loaded into Basthon, e.g. console.basthon.fr?from=https:/..., but not in the browser, e.g. advanced-ict.info/programming/...?

It's not "binary code", it's just binary, and I'm teaching "programming" rather than "coding".
PS. A kilobyte has been 1000 bytes for more than 25 years, now - although I didn't discover that until about ten years ago as it didn't make the news.
Computing teachers, what is the hill you will die on, and why is it 1 kilobyte = 1,024 bytes?

How do you make sure that the likes of Scratch and Physical Computing is worthwhile in laying foundations for textual programming?
I often find learners remember ‘making a game’ or ‘making the robot move’ but don’t learn about sequencing, iteration, selection etc.
