I'll give my bank a call tomorrow and ask about the situation, but I swear I shouldn't have had to do any of this in the firstplace and that I would've already had this money in my hand FOUR DAYS AGO!

PayPal has absolutely broken me to the extent that now I'm starting to second guess if I'm even going to be able to get the payout through 'local bank transfer' because my name is not stated in 'full' on statements, whereas Twitch required my full first name.

Me totally not trying to have a panic attack as I just realized that I had to put in my full legal first name when updating my Twitch payout, but my bank statements display my name in its usually shortened form, and now the worries that the small discrepancy could cause ANOTHER rejected payout.

From what I understand the money is currently held on Twitch's side of things, so its not gone.

Thanks PayPal. You really had to throw this at me to go through such headaches.

UPDATE;

Got an email from Twitch mentioning that the payment 'failed' and that I need to 'set a payout method for your account'.

I also found out that 'Direct Deposit' is actually referring to ACH and is a U.S. only thing.

Looking like 'Local Bank Transfer' may have to be the route taken.

Been a day later and sadly still nothing.

I'm not expecting it to happen until PayPal deals with the verification crap.

I know this is not on Twitch's end, they submitted it at the usual time, this is solely a PayPal issue.

I will be genuinely furious (and heartbroken) if I don't receive it soon.

Apologies if I appear on edge or worrying about this quite a bit.

Its a LOT of money to have potentially held up and that really adds to the anxiety I'm currently feeling in regards to the situation.

So yeah.. no payout today, definitely blaming PayPal as the culprit. (Checked on Twitch, said it was submitted on the 13th, which is normal.)

Hopefully after doing that verification garbage I can get it sooner rather than later, than change the payout method going forward.

Hopefully once the payout has finally gone through and its in my hands, I can switch the method to direct deposit so that I don't have to deal with PayPal's BS after this.

Probably would earn a bit more as a result of PayPal fees not occurring if I skip 'em!

Alright so it turns out that changing the payment method IS possible and that I can even do a direct deposit.

Probably the direction I'm gonna take after this PayPal nonsense.

And now because I had to do that (as much as I DIDN'T want to, but given what's potentially on hold here, it was rather important), I likely won't even get the payout this week as it usually takes them 2-3 business days to confirm.

I need to look into an alternative for receiving Twitch payouts.

Oh so it turns out that PayPal was suddenly like "Hey we need ID verification to confirm you are the account holder" and they sent an email regarding that the day prior.

I'm thoroughly convinced THAT is why I haven't gotten the payout yet.

So tired of this fucking timeline man.

I'm willing to chalk it up due to its amount (it's the highest I've ever earned in a month on Twitch) and/or delays in it being actually placed in my PayPal, but I can't help but be nervous about such a thing.
