Got Season 1 of #RizzoliAndIsles on in the background. It's been a long time since I watched the show, and seeing #LeeThompsonYoung is breaking my freaking heart.

One of the great AI-proof assessments I'm leaning more heavily on lately are primary source evaluations, but based on sources drawn directly from the archive rather than more popularly accessible ones ChatGP would likely be able to engage with. Happily, I've seen AI rates plummet accordingly.

From this AM's HCR:
"Even as government agents from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) ramp up their arrests and confrontations, the lug nuts on the wheels of the White House bus continue to loosen."

I do so love this woman's writing style.

Genuinely has anyone *ever* been owned so badly as a man who converts to a new religion as an adult and sorta makes it his whole thing only to see the literal head of that religion rebuke his entire deal and then they choose the NEXT head of the religion specifically because he doesn't like you

John Kelly is not a bleeding heart liberal. If he says “no dude really, I worked for the guy and he’s a fascist lunatic,” then I believe him.

I am loving the new series of @deathinparadise.bsky.social. (I watch via BritBox.) The current characters have only had the cute, adorkable, semi-broken Inspectors. They don't remember how very much Richard irritated the living daylights out of everyone on St. Marie. 😆

@bmorecitydot.bsky.social , y'all know you are my very favorite municipal department of transportation. But what the heck is going on with signals today? Some are out, some are flashing, and there are railroad warnings going off for no apparent reason!

This time was preceded by an era where big business literally owned your labor. Company towns, company stores, etc. the presidency was owned by big business from McKinley to FDR (minus Roosevelt & Taft yrs)

The fight it took to get to the golden era of the blue collar worker was just that, a fight

If they’re comfortable killing other people, they will eventually be comfortable killing you.

You can learn that lesson the easy way or the hard way.

July 6th, 2016 | A History of Racial Injustice On this day, Philando Castile was shot and killed by an officer during a traffic stop for a broken taillight in St. Paul, Minnesota.

8 years ago today Philando Castile was murdered. The criminal legal system failed to convict the cop who shot him despite the recorded evidence. We had to watch that video live just 24 hours after we watched cops shoot Alton Sterling in the back.

(The video does not play at link)

Still pissed off at the moderators for not challenging Trump’s lies at the debate.

And by “the moderators” I mean the pundits and posters on here who haven’t mentioned any of those lies ever since because they’re now more obsessed with Biden’s age than the NYT was with her emails.

those arguing that taylor swift can't be a role model because she is an unmarried and childless woman at 34 are doing a great job of arguing that children need more women role models who are unmarried and childless at 34

Seeing multiple folks in my feed losing their shit because Biden is not tarring the entire GOP with the Dobbs decision. From a political science perspective, this a legit criticism. From a "running for re-election" perspective, however, this is both unsurprising and sensible.

So I went back and read Breyer’s dissent in Bruen and it clearly and simply lays out the terrible problems with the originalist reliance on history, ie: what, and whose, history counts? And why should we now be constricted by what someone did >100 yrs ago?
