it KINDA sucks that I wont have any updates on my last.fm or airbuds accounts but in exchange i get to relive the strangely calming experience of downloading a shit ton of songs and one by one updating the metadata with accurate info & album covers from Musicbrainz
now that every music platform has no songs/sends 3 trillion to fund war crimes/contains strange jank/actively tries to extort you, I think I'm gonna go back to downloading MP3s to my phone (but testing out Soulseek this time). might actually be better cuz of the lossless FLAC uploads available.
biggest issue ive had is the fact that youtube doesn't provide auto generated Topic releases for songs with music videos. like WHY. some of them are shorter than the album version or have external sound effects...
pretty sure theres an app called Spotube that uses your data on spotify (playlists and such) and automatically finds equivalent YouTube links. there might be some others out there but look into this one if u cant find anything else
the KDE file manager's "places" sidebar, consisting of folders such as Home, Games, legally obtained games, Desktop, Steam, evil Steam & Wastebin
i built this KDE install brick by brick
unfortunately i didn't have a similar issue as it just allowed changes to be made when the USB was mounted via windows 10's file explorer, so it's hard to say. i'd try it anyways & swap to a different boot USB tool like BalenaEtcher/Rufus if it doesnt work, since it shouldn't be preventing changes
i have no idea if this is infact the same issue, but I recognise that error message sooo
okay wait i'm pretty sure someone i guided through a linux mint install had a motherboard that did this: find a way to read the contents of the USB you're using to boot Linux Mint, enter the folder named EFI then BOOT, and rename grubx64.efi to mmx64.efi
sad cena...

it's really funny how literally every aspect of the user experience on Microsoft's own tablet hardware is 3x better on Linux (provided you use Gnome)
