this looks like the cover of a private press folk record going for £££s on discogs.
Nice to see we are on the top line of the "noise gigs in London" page on Dice. dice.fm/browse/londo... (I'm not sure if I really think of it as a "noise" gig, but I guess it's not *not* a noise gig)
Can we change your Quietus byline to Will Salmon Oil Freeze please?
Forgot to take a picture. But was a great performance from Palestinian artists Sasha Shadid, Adan Azzam and Julmud @mosaicrooms.bsky.social tonight for the opening of Another Sky Festival. This festival deserves more attention!
There's a parallel perhaps with government corruption. One could no doubt find examples throughout the history of the state to show corruption has "always" existed, but that doesn't mean that outrage over corruption isn't good and useful (as we just saw in Hungary).
Great to see the return of Zero Wave live nights, get yourself along to this…
Thanks!
Lot of people seem to be very upset about the use of the word "psyop" in the hed here, but when Edward Bernays invented public relations he was pretty upfront about the fact he based it all on the psychological warfare techniques he learnt during WWII, so where's the lie?
Right. But payola in the 50s was a huge scandal. People lost their jobs, got indicted. So I'm not sure if this comparison really lets the contemporary equivalent off the hook....
caveat – there are some typos in the "details" text (my fault).
Our forthcoming Zero Wave show on April 30th now has a page on the resident advisor website ra.co/events/2415881
do you think the inventors of the crap nyt games like Strands really hate josh wardle or do they look up to him like some sort of weird god?
in the UK, a few years ago, there was a public vote on the name of a new boat for the National Oceanography Centre, a £200 million polar scientific research ship. "Boaty McBoatface" won by a landslide.
Oh no. I just found out somebody with the same as me has written some mad book about the holy grail called The Truth: The Greatest Cover Up in History.
What did you think of it? (I liked it a lot at the royal opera house in ‘23)
Fore further information and updates on the event and the artists playing do check zerowavemusic.tumblr.com and www.instagram.com/far_rainbow_... Thanks!
On the 30th April, we take over the Blue Monk on Enid Street, Bermondsey, for a night of experimental and improvised music by Colin Webster, Andrew Lisle, Roberto Sassi, Hannah Dargavel-Leafe & Far Rainbow (that's me and Emily) plus films by Aura Satz. It's gonna be great. You should totally come.
I am going to be unbearable on here for the next few weeks, because [sound of fingers tapping on pub tables in imitation of a drum roll] I am putting on a gig! Yes, that's right. Zero Wave returns to London after a hiatus of more than 7 years. dice.fm/event/k6dpbp...
www.theguardian.com/music/2026/a... nice to be remembered by my old pal Mia in this piece about the brighton early 00s music scene
This is like when some Silicon Valley type says they don’t “get” books
i feel genuinely sorry for you
madness
also Roadrunner cartoons.
pretty sure the films of chaplin, keaton and the marx brothers prove this wrong.
i do! i think you need to, with London’s very hard water. But still!
to be honest, wht i meant was, they promise a lot, you think it's going to make your life easier, but half the time they don't work and you end having to check everything individually and manually clean half the stuff that comes out.
dishwashers are very much the chatgpt of kitchen appliances.
