I think one of the things that made it stand out to me was its unusual production; synesthetically it looked unlike anything else I’d heard. Sure you can listen and say “those are drums, guitar, keys”, but it has one of the most unique flavors of any album, unlike anything else. Love his diversity.

Been absolutely obsessing over Beck’s The Information recently. It was one of the albums that grabbed me most when I was first getting into his music during art school; listening to a pirated copy, all the songs were out of order and it took a WHILE to get used to the proper order. It’s 20 yrs old!
