It was an exhibition game so, really the whole game was just for fun.

It’s my job to capture and hold people’s attention. I don’t expect them to watch my videos like they’re eating their veggies. Leaders should inspire us and tell stories that compel us. This is not a modern thought.

This video makes me feel an emotion I have never felt. Watching this video is the only time I can reliably reproduce it. I just think they’re beautiful and I’m proud of them and happy for them. It’s like I’m their dad.

I don’t blame Biden for not getting that, but the next candidate needs to.

This is now far more the case than it was when I was growing up because we’re all collectively the media and all of our inputs get filtered through algorithms that judge what to promote with extreme prejudice toward whatever is most salient.

I feel like we have been over-convinced that the news media exists to serve the public interest. It can often do that, but not because that’s its job. Its job is to capture and hold attention.

I feel like we’re talking about two different things. Of course not every congressperson will be able to figure out how to get the attention they deserve, but the president should be able to. Mamdani proves that you don’t have to be MAGA to capture the media’s attention.

I am sympathetic. The Biden presidency was frustrating far beyond the office of the President. But this event is the equivalent of sending a telegram to a news service in 1980.

When Orin’s cars lose races, they go into a special box called “car jail” but when Orin’s /marbles/ lose races they go into a special box called “the Factory of Brutal Experiments.”

I feel like that video is a pretty good example of how I 100% did the thing that this person is accusing me of not doing. I’m really proud of that video!

Sorry to out-cynical your take…the point of electoral politics is to get elected. Without that…

NASA and Mamdani are proving that Americans are desperate to see their money spent in ways they feel good about.

This, however, is not the same thing as simply spending the money on things we would feel good about but never know happened. People need to be able to see it.

Look, RFK jr. and I have a lot of differences but this, I fear, may not be one of them.

I got a pretty bad case. Apparently that's more common after having done chemo. Healing, but it's slow.

Hahah! I finally lost the tinglies in my pinky and ring finger about a year after treatment, but I never had it bad.

Mustard gas was actually kinda the first chemo. There are some related molecules still in use today! This kicks ass, thank you for sharing it.

Can't really blame it, honestly. It's very dumb.

Also, for the VERY INVESTED, yes I currently have shingles. Yes I had shingles before my lymphoma diagnosis. Yes I went to see my oncologist about it. He says everything looks normal and I did not relapse.

I did some research to try and figure out when my death date would be if there had been no treatment for my cancer. I don't know why I assumed it would be some date in the future, but, in fact, I passed the middle of the "no treatment survival" bell curve more than a year ago. Thanks chemo.

If you’re saying “the problem is we don’t have enough housing” I’m always going to agree with you.

I had the thought that we could probably check this by seeing if young people in New York City are doing substantially better than nationally and it does not appear that they are. I couldn’t find directional data here, though, just 2023 numbers, and these are teens rather than people in their 20s.
