Awoo dogs, I’m currently going through hell at work with some company wide stuff, so… I’m very very busy and extremely exhausted at the end of each day. I know I’ve got messages starting to pile up, I promise I’ll get to them, but it’ll be a bit. This will pass, but it’s hell right now. :)

“Why is recon so populated tonight…”

Oh. That’s right. There’s a con.

If you’re in the recon pilot beta, you’ll want to check your position listed on your profile.

I had myself listed as like 70% passive, but the new profiles remove that and add positions, so it assumed I’m a vers bottom! 😂 🫣😳

Just so nobody gets the wrong idea, for anyone going to MIR I hope they have fun!

I’m not attacking anyone, I’m just being realistic with the cost vs benefit of this event for me. I can do a lot of other things I value more with that cash.

Have fun if you’re going, enjoy it, and stay safe!

You're correct, by $10 a night. $40 for the four nights.

However, this just isn't enough to move the needle back for me. I heavily consider the value of the money I'm spending, and after last year, I was a bit unhappy with the value I feel I got from the event.

It's all a personal choice though!

Well, have fun at MIR folks - but I’ve been officially priced out.

Over $1K just for a room, not including the registration, food, drink, travel, merchandise, or add ons.

Besides, after last year, the event has moved away from its core as a rubber event.

Can’t even say what “MIR” stands for now.

One effect of the medications I’m on now is between the time I take it (~7:30am) and when it wears off (~8pm), I have zero sex drive. Like, kink disgusts me during business hours. 😂

At night though, I’ve started getting incredibly riled up, more so than before. All that horny had to go somewhere!

Forever mourning the super sniffer I somehow lost after my first session with it. The universe truly just makes things disappear sometimes… like the $50 I now need to spend on a new one. 😭

Hey, you.

I know life can get tough. I know life can be unfair, but come here.

You’re going to do good things. You’re going to be okay, you’re going to make it.

Don’t look at things as a negative - but as a determination. Determination to succeed, to change, to grow, and I know you will.

Well, an update! I was wrong, hotel price per night for the base room is $219, back to 2024 pricing!

We’ll see what package prices turn out to be.

The venue changed for this year, too. Now it’s being hosted at the Marriott Chicago O’Hare, so that’s a cost bump as you put it.

Which, the entire move to rosemont was because they said it could support future growth. Now the event moves again a year after saying that.

Second Note: The prices are the prices that I paid. Some folks may have gotten better or worse pricing depending on their package, purchase date, etc.

I got the standard pricing each year, with a little bit of an early bird discount.

Overall, if my average change assumption holds up, I’ll probably be skipping this event. The experience hasn’t gotten better, and after last year, I felt as if they’re moving away from what I want it to be.

Who knows though, maybe they’ll make it cheaper!

As MIR has not released any info for this year, I decided to do my own calculations.

The results are pretty eye opening to how much MIR prices have inflated over the past 4 years, and not for a better experience.

Note: 2026 prices are estimated based on the average price increase over prior years.

Things aren’t perfect, but our city still exists. Our residents still exist. This is still our home. We are the Twin Cities. We are Minnesota. And we are going to be okay. 🐾💚

I support peaceful protest, documenting events, and helping neighbors. I do not support violence or physical confrontation. Escalation only puts people at risk. Take the legal route. Stay alive.

There is significant fear, and I’m not downplaying that. After unlawful detentions, minority communities have legitimate concerns about what could happen to them. Fear is a valid emotion, but fear can cause knee-jerk reactions. Remember to breathe through it.

Protesters are loud, visible, and overwhelmingly peaceful, exercising their First Amendment rights. A very small number of incidents, including fireworks, physical interference, and vandalism, get amplified because conflict attracts attention, but they are not representative of daily life here.

Minneapolis and the Twin Cities are not “burning.”

What is happening is a tense and hostile situation. ICE agents have been using illegal tactics and, in some cases, have been actively hostile. They have fatally shot someone, non-fatally shot others, and gone door-to-door.

As many of you know, I live in the Twin Cities. I want to clarify something based on what people are seeing and sharing online. I live in the heart of what’s been making headlines, so here’s what life actually looks like day-to-day.

Not sure if I just used far too many poppers last night or if I’m just feeling crummy this morning…

But I do know that my shoes looked fantastic last night with @rubberhowie.bsky.social.

As I fly home, one question remains.

For my next destination, which one is calling my name?

Who could I see, where could I go?

If anyone wants to help, let me know!
