In the background, a handful of Martian tripods lay waste to a burning London, as seen in a wide rectangular panel. To the left, Blackfriar’s Bridge, horribly crowded with fleeing citizens, some on foot, some on carts and omnibuses. To the centre and forefront, the Thames, filled with boats and ships and Nemo’s Nautilus.
H.G. Wells’ Martian Tripods lay waste to London, the fiends, as viewed from Blackfriar’s Bridge, a scene channelled by Kevin O’Neill & Alan Moore for the second volume of The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen.

Although judging by online discourse, baseball fans seem to have more fun engaging with their dis-functioning teams than soccer fans do. This is especially true for those who support "big" clubs as they seem to feel that their team should win every game and every trophy every year.

"Sir" used to be a clear indication of a made up anecdote, now he lies so regularly it is no longer a tell.

AOC talking to RFK Jr. Her facial and hand gesture has the spiritual energy of that Italian hand gesture where you pinch your fingers and wave your hand (the "ma che vuo" gesture).

Also Raging Bull, though it is less of a biopic and just a great film.

Even when they are walking down the middle of sidewalk they tend to waver slightly from one side to another as they concentrate on their phone and it makes it difficult to pass them on the left or right.

Reducing funding for the CBC and buying into the AI hype with the installation of a new pro-AI Minister of Artificial Intelligence are also counter-productive if the goal is to maintain national media sovereignty.

Maybe Iran wants Trump and his administration to be in power as long as possible so he can completely destroy the US and they are trying to interfere with Bluesky's valiant attempts to bring him down now :-)

I have never experienced this. Seems very off to me. It is not like you keep track of the timing on these continuous trips. If tapping on the second (or third or whatever) time takes place within the 2 hours you should be good. I would dispute it.

The Matrix (1999) for something recent-ish (?) and A Matter of Life and Death (1946) for a classic.

The second time I read it (back in the early 90s) I realized it was the particular prose descriptions of a journey through a very specific place that resonated with me.

He received a bad gash to his leg just below the knee. No structural damage but he will need to be stitched up and then a couple weeks of healing it looks like.

MTL is a fun team again (unlike a lot of these playoff teams). TB tried to intimidate but you can not give such a skilled team so many powerplays.

Promotional image for Apple TV's _For All Mankind_ depicting an artificially aged Joel Kinnaman in the cockpit of a spacecraft.
The TV show _For All Mankind_ is a solid if inconsistent show, season to season, but one thing you can always rely on is that the teenagers and young adults will always be horror shows (and that Joel Kinnaman's aging make-up will always, uh, delight).
