The word "keep" implies there's been a fight. This was surrender.

All this, and you got nothing of value. No guarantees for Americans depending on us. Just a worthless IOU that will evaporate the moment you try to cash it in.

Might as well tell Americans "we tried nothing and we're out of ideas."

The leader of the opposition party is supposed to ensure that the opposition speaks with a unified message.

Most of y’all are old enough to remember but it bears repeating, Democrats couldn’t peel off a single member of the Republican caucus in the initial fight to enact the ACA, even after they watered down the plans to attract them.

Republicans got 8 Democrats in what’s essentially a vote to repeal.

If this party is gonna have *any* credibility with voters or remote chance of success, we need new leadership (at the very least). Now.

We need to be a party that stands for average, working class Americans & is unyielding in standing for our principles.

Solid first step: Replace Schumer.

There's no guarantee of a subsidy vote in the House, and no guarantee of it being signed into law.

*This* is precisely why folks loathe our party. Our national leadership especially talks out of both sides of its mouth, acts like it cares for a bit, then buckles in exchange for *nothing* of value.

We've all seen the premiums, deductibles, and copays for next year. They're going to squeeze people out of having the healthcare they need. This is going to lead to people's lives being ruined (or worse).

And, instead of getting a firm extension of subsidies, you're getting a morally bankrupt IOU.

As someone who's involved in Democratic politics on the local level, I feel like it'd be malpractice if I didn't say something about this "deal" on the public record:
