The group behind ANW is involved with some sort of megachurch that uses fandom cons as part of their "geek washing" initiative and for outreach/recruitment. This was a known issue when they started this con but I remember being told "they aren't that bad." Funny how it turns out they actually are.

Just started taking a friend who is entirely unfamiliar with Star Trek in general through Strange New Worlds; with two exceptions the only stuff I've had to explain is stuff from TOS (he knows nothing of Trek). The two other things were from S2 of Discovery and are kinda explained in the first ep.

Oh wow, that's sweet and hot! I'm so glad to inspire all that, and will try to continue to do so. I like to think of myself as a muse of perversion and depravity; it's nice t know it works through art, too. :)
