I may be tired and a little hoarse, but as I said again and again on the Senate floor, this is a moment where we cannot afford to be silent, when we must speak up.

I had the best time at the Color & Light Festival this weekend! The projections that were designed perfectly to fit this building brought it to life in such a unique way.

My toxic trait is looking at people's phone battery percentage when they send me a screenshot. I can guarantee you I'm looking at the battery life before the content of the screenshot. 😂

I typed my two favorite words for the 4th time — THE END!

I finished the first draft of the 2nd book in my #cozymystery series.

I’m off to hide the manuscript on the top shelf in my closet to let it marinate for a few months, and then I’m gonna celebrate! 🥳🎉

Sometimes when I think about my loved ones, I try and imagine what they’re doing in the moment I’m thinking about them.

If my loved ones do the same for me, I wonder how they visualize my world.

In both cases, I wonder how far those visions are from reality.

Me too 😢 It is unnerving and heartbreaking to know that people who contribute so much to my community could be forcibly removed. Where has the humanity gone? 💔 I always try to lead with love and hope, but I’m being tested.

A bird's-eye view of a former Auschwitz II-Birkenau camp showing a wide dirt pathway flanked by parallel rows of barbed-wire fences. Groups of visitors walk along the path, surrounded by the remnants of brick structures and barracks, now reduced to foundations. Green grass contrasts with the somber history of the site, as the path leads toward a guard tower in the distance.

Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. It did not start from gas chambers.

This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.

Auschwitz took time.

I think it just might be my favorite Eagles song! Lying Eyes is a very close second. How about yours?

Yesterday, I watched The History of the Eagles documentary. Not only was it fascinating, but I was blown away by their vocal blend for the entire almost 4-hour film.

I am so grateful to have been raised on this music!!

Yes, it’s a Beatles song from the white album (which is fantastic), but this was the version I grew up listening to on my grandma’s turntable 💛

I hope that whenever you read this, you can close your eyes and take 3 deep, mindful breaths.

Go ahead. Try it. You’ll feel even the slightest bit better.

*Waits*

See, didn’t that feel good?

My dad & stepmom built the cutest, sweetest, epic-est Little Free Library last fall. I finally got to see it when I was back in my hometown for the holidays. I am so grateful to have grown up in homes where all my parents loved to read. This Little Free Library is a perfect reflection of that 💛

I've never been so happy about rain! 😍

It's been dry in my part of New Jersey, and we've had a drought warning with restrictions in place.

But this morning, I hear rain falling outside. My window screens are blurry with trapped rainwater.

Let it rain, let it rain, let it rain!

It was an honor to get an award from @ncac.bsky.social for speaking out against book bans. It was even more special to have it given to me by @judyblume.bsky.social -who taught me all I have ever needed to know about how to fight book bans with grit and grace. 🩷📚😮

We all have that one weird friend that never quite fits in but they're always there trying to be the best they can be.

Who am I kidding? We ARE that friend.
