Great news to see that the Stonewall National Monument's rainbow flag will be restored after a successful lawsuit! May this symbol continue to serve as a rallying point for local LGBTQ+ communities

In this post, I talk about the history of the Stonewall Inn being recognised as a historic site, before being designated a national monument, the struggle for the local LGBTQ+ community to get the rainbow flag erected, and how they defiantly opposed the removal of this hard-won flag last month.

I forgot I pre-ordered A Queer Scrapbook! So many incredible queer historical books coming out this year we're so lucky

Two of my supervisors have also already gone through this for me so the plan is to go through paragraph by paragraph and really interrogate this. I am certain I will lose my sanity by the end, but this is the price we pay 💪

Also pictured: my pile of books that I'm eagerly waiting to read after I submit my thesis. Still waiting on my other supervisor's book to arrive but shout-out to Legal Entanglements too which is not pictured..

A poster advertising details of the call for participants for a roundtable discussion mentioned in the post. Key details to note: The seminar will be held on-campus at the University of Roehampton. While the event will be hybrid, participants are asked to attend in-person. Current plans for the research seminar to be on a Thursday or Friday in May, but this is subject to the availability of participants. As far as I know, farm archives have never really been used to track queer histories before. Given they mostly record the financial ongoings on a given farm, you can understand why. However, my year of research at The MERL has proved their potential.
