My brain: "You can sing that to this."

I appreciated the little Trafalmadorian aside in the midst of all that Story of Your Life riffing.
Watched it last night. Loved it.

The vigil is an annual lantern-light walk across the North Bridge with re-enactors, music, poetry, and a recitation of the names of the 122 who died in the battles of Lexington and Concord on April 19, 1776.

IDKHOW at the ‘dise tonight. Great show. Don’t remember the last time I watched from the balcony here, but that's where the kiddo wanted to watch from.
I was a strong contender for oldest guy in the room. Sigh. (For the record, I intro'd the kid to the band, not the other way 'round.)

"Ugh, this guy again."

8 years ago today. Ticker still ticking.
A photograph of an Osprey, its wings spread forward, surrounded by spray against a dark background, a herring caught in its talon.
The herring are running, which means that the Osprey are back and hunting at the Wareham herring run. They were mostly fishing away from the accessible part of the river, but a few ventured into camera range, like this bird with its successful catch.

Great show by The Wedding Present at the Sinclair, bracketing a run through of all of Seamonsters (marking its 35th anniversary) with old and new tracks and a cover of Pavement's "Box Elder".

I think I hit weather bingo on my commute this morning: overcast, bright sun, rain, snow, hail, and "wintry mix".
I have copies of "Animation Greats" and "More Animation Greats" on DVD, all NFB animations.
"The Family That Dwelt Apart", "The Cat Came Back", and "Blackfly" are some of my favorite pieces of animation ever.
Paired selfies taken a decade apart (today).
What a difference a decade makes. Yikes.
To be fair, this has been a *really* long decade.
The reason Moby Dick is the most American novel ever written is because it is about a violent white man enacting a confusing revenge fantasy against a cheap source of oil.
Even though I've seen Kristin both solo and with 50 Ft. Wave, I *think* this is the first time I've seen the Muses live in over 30 years. Never got to see them with Tanya, and I no longer remember if I saw them at Club Babyhead or The Living Room, but it would have been early '90s.

Throwing Muses tonight at the 'dise. They could have turned the vocals up in the mix a skosh, but a great set.

A selfie
Spring shearing complete. Busy weekend so I spared my wife from the usual day of weird facial hair as I step down from the winter beard.

Great show by Chris Thile tonight at Groton Hill Music Center. That I expected; but this was my first time at the venue, and man does that room *sing*.

I do quite a bit of landscape astrophotography, and that's simply not true.

A photograph of the sun, showing some sunspots on the surface.
Tried out the solar filter that came with the SeeStar today. Decent enough, but what it really makes me want to do is finally buy a solar filter for my long lens.
