Basically I would like a werewolf equivalent of Witchfinder General.

The other reason a "sociological" werewolf wouldn't be made in Hollywood is because American cinema remains obsessed with individuality, with conflicts being primarily internal, with the hyper-nuclear family as the main focus. America is scared of looking at systems, and that says it all.
