We enthusiastically look forward to having him join us in building a stronger Edmonton — for today and the future.
In this role, Blake will support as a strategic advisor, driving the effective execution of Council’s priorities, shaping policy, leading government relations, and overseeing community engagement.
His strong and principled work ethic has earned him a reputation of being a pragmatic and attentive leader. But most importantly, he’s regarded as someone who is rooted in community, seeking solutions that empower people.

I am pleased to announce Blake Desjarlais(@blakedesjarlais.bsky.social) has accepted the role of Chief of Staff for my office, effective April 7, 2026.
Born in Edmonton, he holds a political science degree from the University of Victoria and was previously the MP for Edmonton-Griesbach.
I would like to wish all Christian Edmontonians a very Happy Easter.
Today is a day of celebration, but also a day of reflection, renewal and coming together as a community.
May your time with your family and loved ones be joyful and filled with the light of peace.
I am looking forward to continuing these conversations in more neighbourhoods across Edmonton.

Affordable housing and economic development go hand-in-hand.
Edmonton has made major progress reaching targets in the last four-year cycle. I am proud of this progress and I look forward to continuing to develop these meaningful results.
Thank you Edmonton Journal for spotlighting this!

I am grateful to have been able to attend today’s session. Thank you to everyone who took the time to share your ideas and perspectives as we work together to build a stronger city.
This growth is welcome, but it requires thoughtful management. BILD’s contributions — whether through building housing, laying the foundations for neighbourhoods, or offering mortgage advice — and the work of its partners play a crucial role in how Edmonton grows and evolves.
We are making progress toward that goal. People from across Canada and around the world are setting their sights on Edmonton because they recognize our city as an affordable, vibrant place to start a business, pursue higher education, and or raise a family.
It will probably come as no surprise that I think a lot about Edmonton — about the kind of city we are building for today and for the future.
Partners such as BILD Edmonton Metro help transform our city into a place where people can build their lives and contribute to their communities.

By supporting Little DON'YA and other businesses in our downtown core, Edmontonians help grow our local economy and get the chance to connect with the diverse cultures and cuisines that make our city vibrant.
Today, I celebrated the grand re-opening of Little DON’YA here in the heart of our city. This café honours Ukrainian culture through traditional food, community programming, and cultural storytelling.
Thank you CBC Edmonton for highlighting the incredible work being done by ihuman and community partners.

When I introduced the motion last fall to increase investments to organizations supporting vulnerable Edmontonians, I was optimistic about the impact, but the success we are seeing has truly surpassed my expectations.
