A selfie of an incredibly beautiful man graduating.
It’s been a while since I’ve used bluesky, but I’d like to make my return. So let me bless your feed with a photo of me from graduation 🤣

A huge thank you to @gamerepublic.bsky.social for making this possible.

As a C++ programmer currently trying Rust, I don't understand the craze. It's an interesting language and I definitely see potential, but there's a lot of ups and downs with the language as a whole.
Expanding on my project through following Pete Shirley's paper on C++ Ray Tracing in One Week but using Rust, I've been working with materials, multisampling, diffuse reflections, and a lot of trait refactoring later, this is the current state.

I'm excited to finally share that I am in the process of having a published game for the PlayStation5! This is 9 months of C++ progress to date so please - if you'd like to support myself and my team or keep up to date with our progress, you can follow on the links in the comments.
I've been following Pete Shirley's paper on C++ Ray Tracing in One Week but I've been using Rust. Rust is a weirdly interesting language, I have many yes' and many no's about this but it's been a fun learning experience so far.

I've finally made progress with my C++ DirectX 12 water reflections! I render the scene separately to a reflection and refraction render target, where these can be transitioned to a shader resource and then projective texture mapping can combine the images to the water's surface. Next is distortion!
I take back everything I said this is crazy, thank you.
I saw this yesterday and tried it today - my attempt doesn’t make a copy and your code is invalid syntax. Unless you can prove why you think it creates a copy, I think this is wrong.
barney soursoup 😭😭
I had a university module with a “no for loop” challenge. Pure hell but very fun to at least learn what else is out there with STL.
Hell yeah
Been working on some game over/end screen designs for my C++ PS5 game prototype and maybe I was an artist in another life. I spent around 30 minutes in MS Paint for all of these. The top right one is my favourite, but for convenience, we're implementing the bottom one.
Nice!
That’s come a long way since your first update, good job
Remember to take it steady, especially with Frank Luna. 3D graphics is a huge topic, I’ve been doing this for 4 years now and I can only easily and comfortably read about half the book.
Ayyy nice!
It’s a good choice if you wanna get really deep into maths, graphics and c++ as a whole. I only have a couple of books but this one is definitely gonna last me a long time.
Have you tried w3schools yet? They’ve been pretty good at helping me understand language concepts I’ve not come across yet. From there they have everything you could ever want in SQL.

This one looks pretty good tbh, I’ll look into it. I, too, am pretty bad at the deep side of maths and the concepts can take a long time to learn.
