Our approach to allocating Team Base Camps aims to ensure efficiency, fairness and minimised travel for all teams. The TBC selection process will begin after the Final Draw for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Brazil 2027™, which is expected to take place in December 2026. Member Associations will be requested to select several TBC options in order of preference via the TBC selection tool. As part of the TBC selection process, FIFA will develop a method to determine the allocation of TBCs in the event that one or more teams select the same option. This method will be designed to be fair and objective, while also taking into account the footprint of the tournament, teams’ travel requirements, the Host Cities in which teams will play their matches and a number of other associated geographical factors. The chronological order in which PMAs submit their TBC choices will not affect the allocation of TBCs (i.e. no first-come, first-served criterion).
FIFA has unveiled a brochure of an initial 38 base camps in Brazil for the 2027 Women's World Cup, 12 of which were used for the 2014 Men's World Cup. Base camps were first used for WWC in 2023. Notable to watch: Not first-come, first-served for requests.
