If I had a criticism of Bluesky, it's that this website feels very American. Twitter did too of course but other countries were still able to carve out their own individual corners. I need more Brits and Europeans to follow!

Kew is my favourite royal palace. Knowing what happened there both to George and to Charlotte makes it such a sombre and poignant place.

I know every other historian on here is watching Gladiator II, but I saw Les Mis for the first time yesterday.

It wasn’t what I expected and I’m not sure whether I liked it or not - but I can also feel myself slowly becoming obsessed with it?

I’m fascinated by how ancient Rome has been used throughout history as a licence for showing audiences all manner of thirst traps and other sins which would otherwise be caught by the censors! Good for Victoria!

Bluesky academics, let’s get to know each other. Quote this & tell me:
1) A project you are working on.
2) An odd idea that you aren’t working on but keep thinking about.

1) How 18/19th C working-class radicals thought about the Classics.
2) Pádraig Pearse and Cú Chulainn

Hi hi - I’m Mollie, another refugee from Twitter looking for new friends!

I’m between a Masters and a PhD in British and Irish History.
My main area of interest is 18th-19th C political thought.

I’m currently writing about radical classicism.
