Feel free Discuss.
Brag moment: new macbook isnt quite quite top-of-specs (M5pro, not M5max). But the extra money for nano-texture screen makes this 1st laptop I can truly use in garden.
Let s see how she holds up...
Should I feel Outdated ?
(the hammer-guys certainly think so, while I keep repeating basic advice on hitting some nails while avoiding others) )
(and I try not to get hit in the process)
The guys with the hammers only want to see nails...
Part of my job is now to control the hammer-guys, make m hit only the right nails in the right way.
(yes, DBA- and Data-wrangler's life... I remember when IT was called "data processing"... )
when ppl take a deep sigh, and state..
"But that datamodel is Normalized..."
(as if that is a bad thing... but yeah, they would prefer 1 single CSV with the cstmr-postcode repeated at every invoice-item-line... )
Agree.
Keep this in mind.
(and it was a nice number to listen to as well)
Eh.. maybe, at the time, some regarded those innovations as horrible and over-the-top papal arrogance as well?
(but I totally agree with Roger)

Interesting day today...
Looking fw to some smiles this evening...
An arc relationship is when a row can reference exactly one of many parent tables
The challenge is when a column in a yet another table defines which is the parent
@pdevisser.bsky.social shows how to use assertions in Oracle AI Database to do this
oh, it is just a one-off... no need to ...
you end up running that one-off for 100s of times, until it is good enough, and you wish you had it properly designed and automated.
Every experienced IT admin eventually learns the same thing.
Nothing is more permanent than a temporary workaround.
On a long trip.. I can use up a rear tyre in 5 weeks...
Just Curious: Any others experimenting with SQL-Assersions ?

SQL-Assertions in #oracle26ai : They work. They are a Very Powerful feature!).

Some of those errors/warnings, shouldnt they read ora-86nn <something> not supported Yet?
(I ran into similar, and hoping some day, ...)
Who else gets a small kick out of running xeyes..
kids loved it 20yrs ago and still....
In my case, on a container-image, enabling it was...
# dnf config-manager --enable ol8_codeready_builder
# dnf install xorg-x11-apps

You probably need both.
When done badly, Scrum and DevOps lead to Q+D solutions.
Sometimes you need to step back and “design” your solution.
Imagine an order-shipping system with no “products” and no “customers”, and all data flattened, and endlessly repeated, into orderlines.
These things happen...
Eensch.
Agree.
