Hegseth saying “The Pharisee Press” should be a fully mask off moment. He is saying “The Jewish Press”. But Christians of all political stripes are so devoted to using Pharisees as a rhetorical prop that liberal Christians regularly insist it’s totally fine, no matter how many Jews try to explain.

Love it when total strangers show up in my replies to make my point perfectly for me. There is already a word for hypocrites! The word is “hypocrites”! You do not need to use the word for “Jewish rabbis and their followers from the time of Jesus” when you want to say “hypocrites”!

I recently dipped my toes into the science fiction and fantasy book discourse on Facebook, and I find I have things to say about the "Golden Age" of science fiction. By which I do not mean being twelve. Stick that in your back pocket, though, as it's really useful for understanding some people.

Got it, we all got to come and hang out with your cavern. And, sorry, no matter how large the cave is, there's enough of us they'll be no room for weasels, brain or otherwise.

In an unexpected and honestly bizarre turn of events, one of my publishers is reprinting God's War, Infidel, and Rapture next year.

It baffles me that these books are 15 years old and still in print. From a purely financial perspective, they should not be. But publishing is nothing if not weird.

A screenshot of a Facebook post by CBS 2 Boise. The post text reads: "A new state law required the City of Boise to take down the Pride flag outside City Hall. Tuesday morning, the City wrapped flag poles in Pride colors and added a new sign to the window on City Hall. CBS2 reached out to the Mayor and Governor’s office for comment."
Below the text is a collage of three photos showing these updates:
Left: A tall metallic flagpole in a plaza at night, with its lower section wrapped in horizontal stripes matching the colors of the Progress Pride flag (black, brown, light blue, pink, white, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple).
Top Right: A closer view of a flagpole base, also wrapped in horizontal Progress Pride flag colors.
Bottom Right: A large window on City Hall featuring a graphic with diagonal stripes in the Progress Pride colors alongside the text, "Creating a city for everyone."

Oh, this is good. Idaho passed a bill banning local cities from flying the Pride flag. So the cities decided to wrap the poles themselves in pride colors.

This is amazing.
