If my followers have been inspired by the fierce resistance the Twin Cities has put up to ICE, you should make it a point to take a trip here (April through October 😬), enjoy the wonderful things MN has to offer and support our small businesses. It continues to be a really tough time for them.
The brain drain will be real as the rest of the world reacts to us as an ever increasing threat. This doesn’t bode well for US tech companies. I imagine we’ll see an increase in EU alternatives, maybe even using government grants to make solutions available as OSS.
There’s just no world where we lose representation, isolate ourselves, increase poverty, create a right wing oligarchy, shrink the middle class, completely divest in various aspects of diplomacy, science, and education, and still have the ability to influence the world in a positive way.
If I were to create a plan where my ultimate goal was the collapse of the US economy and take us out as the leading global superpower, it would look a lot like our current trajectory.
