I’ve recently purchased On Tyranny after reading Snyder’s excellent Black Earth; not so much “looking forward to” reading it as feeling it is prudent in these times.

In case no one mentioned, please beware of *refeeding syndrome* which can be deadly. Seek advice from a vet about safely feeding this hungry boy. Thank you for looking after him and I hope things go well for you both.❤️

Some of my grandmother’s family were “Manitoba sodbusters;” this painting makes me think of them and what they might have witnessed as they settled and worked their lands.
Beautiful work!

How about not saddling Canadians with MORE DEBT; cancel the $90 Billion dollar Alto HSR train. Saving pennies on gas now but adding $8000 per household in debt for high-speed trains which will take decades to build and leave our children paying this monstrous debt! That would be an actual relief!

Beautiful photo; what a treasure to have.

ER wait times are dangerous.Hallway healthcare(or sunrooms, procedure rooms, conference rooms without proper oxygen, suction, bathrooms, call bells) is dangerous.I’m a longtime healthcare provider and am so angry and disheartened by what Ford has done to healthcare; when will he be held accountable?

They are expropriating lands for their Alto HSR train corridor, many thousands of people already call these areas home! Part of their stated plan is “land value capture” ie purposefully taking (stealing) more land than they need, then developing it for profit down the road.

The government’s plan to expropriate tens of thousands of acres of land (homes, farms and businesses,) for their Alto HSR $90B+ train will handily un-house many thousands of people, creating a worsening housing shortage and forcing people into those rentals. Win-win for the government, I guess.😣

I’m a frontline RN who works in a hospital, I see far too many patients who don’t have a primary care physician, sometimes this has delayed tests and treatments. Nurse Practitioners can absolutely improve access to primary care and help people better manage their health!

I feel that. I used to finish every book I had started, but once I realized that I’ll never get to all the books I want to read, I’ve been known to abandon one on the rare occasion if I’m really not enjoying it.

How much will Canadians keep of their hard earned money? At least the $2200 EACH that the HSR Alto train is going to cost ALL taxpayers?A $90 Billion dollar plus cost for a train with stops in just 7 cities.
I think most Canadians would rather that $90B was used for healthcare, education, housing...

I see Frank’s sign and wish Frank would get on with things.

Have you looked at the omnibus bill C-15 and how the rights of Canadians will be trampled under its changes to expropriation laws? Or the rights it gives to companies to literally break environmental laws and more-so long as they do it in the name of “project of national interest.” 🫤

Please stay safe Rachel, maybe consider self-defense classes or carry bear spray.😕

They absolutely do.

Thanks for that; I have several friends who think Harper balanced the books!

How is the cost of living going to be manageable for future generations? You are saddling our children and grandchildren with $90Billion+ in DEBT for a high speed train to serve wealthy people in just 7 cities in Ontario. Does Alberta know we can’t afford a pipeline but can build this ALTO train?

Holidays and business trips and purchases in general; if it’s American, many Canadians are not interested.
Sorry.

…..to attend. Some of our youth are trapped in sad circumstances:parents can’t afford to help and they struggle to make better lives for themselves. Cutting OSAP just now when colleges have been allowed to raise tuition is especially cruel. I hope our youth remember at election time.

As someone who needed some OSAP to put myself through college and become the higher tax-paying citizen I am today (🙄) I’m so upset for the futures that Doug Ford just denied to so many of our youth.
I was just reading a post from a teen who, after paying to apply for college, will not now be able

Thank you very much! I’ve only in recent years found out where that branch of the family had come from and am looking forward to filling in gaps.🙂

I had ancestors who emigrated from Scotland to Thamesford in the early 1900’s, I keep planning to visit as I’m just a few hours drive away. I’m generally content to rove through graveyards, noting dates etc but maybe could check out archives if they have a museum etc?

I’m watching from Canada with big respect for the good folks of Minneapolis; I didn’t read these memes as disrespectful but I understand how they could be taken this way. I hope Minneapolis maybe establishes a humanitarian award in their names.

Supporting farmers and other food producers across Canada would help keep food costs down and secure safe food chains.
Instead, your government is building high-speed rail from Toronto>Quebec City that will require appropriation of land/farms, removing those acres from our food chain, forever.

I hope this man is ok and I’m sorry for what the residents of Minneapolis have been enduring; I’m also inspired by their organization and resilience!
Plus this photo should be award-winning!

Where is the money coming from for the new high-speed rail from Ontario to Quebec?
