University photographer caught myself and a colleague taking selfies with Zippy at the annual service awards ceremony. I was 25 days short of 25 years so I have to wait until next year to get my tote bag or whatever it will be then (probably a small mug by then).
Thanks for all your efforts here.

A poem about dinosaur poop? Yep. And this one challenges 19th century creationists (diluvialists) to explain fossilized dino do do just as I have presented a similar challenge based a Nature paper this week on the size and contents of fossilized dinosaur droppings. youtu.be/m6NcjqD8lU8?...
Thanks for pointing that one out. There are several comment threads on FB which aren't any better. Most respond not having watched the video or even seen a summary of the original research.
@perahlberg.bsky.social Couldn't help but ask how a creationists would understand these observations.
I summarize the results of a really cool paper just published about what we can learn about dinosaur diversification from studying dino droppings and vomit. Then I take a twist on it and show how this data should cause many creationists to lose sleep. youtu.be/8k5LUAXBjn4?... #dinosaurs #coprolites

Color photograph of the surface of a comet, which mostly appears black and white with some bluish areas near the middle. #PPOD: This picture may look like a lonely mountain, but this landscape is out of our world—it's one of the closest color images ever taken of the surface of a comet. On March 10, 2015, the European Space Agency's Rosetta spacecraft used the OSIRIS camera to take this close-up... 🧪 🔭
A really impressive data set brought together for this latest paper. Fascinating stuff...

Around noon light strikes three walls on the building across from my lab that gives the appearance of three colors when all three walls are made of the same brick.
A week ago I taught a Sunday School class presenting a big picture overview of faith and science. I then recorded a podcast with my pastor to discuss that class and other topics including my history, AI, and how to talk to students about science and faith topics. www.buzzsprout.com/2398861/epis...
The consequences of making proclamations from ignorance. Probably won't happen but not only will many not be able to go to college but many colleges that serve a lot of first time college students will go out of business including the one I work for. That is probably the goal though:-(
