NEW: Two weeks ago gov't IT experts warned us that the worst case scenario would be if DOGE got full admin access to agency systems. We can report at at least one agency DOGE has unfettered "god mode" access. Our latest: www.theatlantic.com/technology/a...

We’re planning to put out some written thoughts after rightscon — will send your way!
At Alphabet, we are committed to making diversity, equity, and inclusion part of everything we do and to growing a workforce that is representative of the users we serve. More information on Google’s approach to diversity can be found in our annual diversity reports, available publicly at diversity.google. The contents of our diversity reports are not incorporated by reference into this Annual Report on Form 10-K or in any other report or document we file with the SEC.
Alphabet/Google today removed a section on diversity from its annual SEC filing. No more "we are committed to making DEI part of everything we do"
Also it broadened language on using contractors and replaced a reference to wanting "productive" employees to wanting ones who "perform at a high level"
New from 404 Media: Employees working at DOGE have been ordered to stop using Slack while government lawyers attempt to transition the agency to one that is not subject to the Freedom of Information Act. Means DOGE will be even more secretive and unaccountable www.404media.co/doge-employe...
My latest.
As journalists and writers, we have a duty to use language that is accurate and describes our current reality.
I’m no longer going to talk about DEI/Anti-DEI.
Let’s be clear. We are facing racial purges and re-segregation.

Frustrated there's not more I can do directly, but for now I can just try to document reality. Elon is bringing his Twitter destruction playbook to the US government, and it's impossible to explain just how serious and bad this is.

On Sunday Turkey votes in what is probably one of the most important election of the year. Together with Article19 we documented how Turkey‘s control over the internet threatens the election - and how social media platforms are simply not doing a good enough job 👇🏻
