I just realized I didn't share the drawings from Thursday's Random Encounters livestream! Well, definitely time to rectify THAT error. The randomly generated prompts were: Vampire + Ripped Pants, Ogre + Starting Pitcher, and Carnivorous Plant + Spring Cleaning.

Reminds me of a conversation I had with @owenkcstephens.bsky.social just yesterday.
It's been a while since I printed a new sticker ... but now it's time to get up and do a celebratory dance!
Thanks! Glad you liked it! Hope you find your copy!

Here's my latest cartoon homage, done as part of my still ongoing livestream show, 50 Years in the Dungeon. This time it's my tip of the creative cap to Daniel Horne and his classic cover painting for Dragon Magazine 126.
The first improv cartoons of April are in, fresh from last night's livestream. The randomly-generated prompts were: Kobold + Ping Pong, Gnoll + Plushie, and Cockatrice + Crossing Guard.
I'm in the midsts of sending out the Quarterly Sticker Reward for my Stan!tastic Corps level patrons ... it's a Bunnybarian (based on a concept by @owenkcstephens.bsky.social ). Want one for your own? Head on over to StickersByStan.com
Elf + Pogo Stick ... Gelatinous Cube + Tap Dancing ... Bugbear + Dr. Who Scarf ... these were the randomly generated prompts from last night's Random Encounters livestream. I'm really taken with the gelatinous cube and I want to make a sticker out of it ... but NO ONE is gonna buy THAT! Right?
A nice article about the Monday morning freelancer meet-up I've been part of for the past decade—Freelance Fandango.

It is a shame about Aonishiki, but he'll make another run at it once his toe heals.
Hey, in case you don't know I co-host a sumo livestream show on YouTube and a discussion group on FB. And each tournament we have a Fantasy Oyakata Game. You should come play! sumoshow.com
We did an Oscar-themed episode of Random Encounters last night. Thanks to the encounter tables and audience input, here are my improv cartoons for: Mind Flayer Casablanca, Beholder Jaws, and Myconid Acceptance Speech.
It's been a while since I did a "Damn it, Owen!" cartoon.
The drought is over.

I'm quoted and some of my 50YitD art is printed in an article on fan art in the latest issue of Public Display Art (see p.8), a free magazine here in the greater Seattle area. But I have NO IDEA where to get a physical copy. Here's a link to the online version.

Happy Valentine's Day! Love who you love and don't let anyone tell ya different!
From last night's Winter Olympics themed episode of Random Encounters, our Olympic mascots Roper & Xorn try their skill at these events: Giant Slalom, Bobsled, and Curling.

I was doodling out some rough character concepts and came up with this guy ... who was so simple, I felt compelled to finish the job and share him while the Winter Olympics are going. Thought about giving him some other kind of hat, though.
And here are the final Hourly Comic Day drawings. This was the 20th #hourlycomicday and the 10th time I've participated (and successfully completed the challenge all ten times).
Cartoon drawing of five D&D heroes standing in front of a goblin-faced fireplace: Halbenet the elf cleric wearing blue/silver armor and wielding gold mace and shield; Tommus the halfling fighter wearing leather armor and wielding a fire-red sword; Coriolis the gnome sorceror wearing an artisan's tabard/overalls and holding a floating orb; Naomlen the dwarf rogue holding two stabby daggers; and Shevarith the human wizard wearing white and green robes and holding a blade-tipped staff.
I commissioned this fan art of the original Warriors of Waterdeep from my favourite D&D cartoonist -- the inimitable @stannex.bsky.social ! -- and he knocked it out of the park!
And now, for some reason, I can't get the A-Team monologue out of my head...
A new batch of improv cartoons from last night's Random Encounters livestream. The randomly-generated prompts were: Adventurer Insomnia, Dwarf Writing with a Plume, Roper Snowboarding.

There were two awesome things in my mailbox today, and one that makes me very sad. A mixed bag, for sure.
