We stand with @sbsisters.bsky.social and 91 other orgs in asserting the vital importance of the Migrant Victims of Domestic Abuse Concession (MVDAC) & Domestic Violence Indefinite Leave to Remain (DVILR).
The BBC investigation into alleged misuse doesn't reflect what services see on the frontline.
Great to see this guide launch on how to talk about about the weaponisation of #VAWG as part of the #NotInOurName campaign by @sbsisters.bsky.social & partners @evawuk.bsky.social @4refugeewomen.bsky.social @lawrsuk.bsky.social @imkaanuk.bsky.social @asylummatters.bsky.social & Hibiscus Initiatives👏

The first commentary focuses on No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF). Here SBS sets out the impact of NRPF and what the omission of this means in practice for migrant victims and survivors.
Support for all victims and survivors, regardless of their immigration status, is essential.
Respect supports the launch of the first paper of @sbsisters.bsky.social's 'Real Impact Series,' which will provide analyses of the Government's strategy to tackle violence against women and girls.

Addressing Child and Adolescent to Parent Violence and Abuse (CAPVA) will contribute to the VAWG Strategy’s Prevention and Early Intervention pillar, which also commits to creating a national definition of child to parent abuse.
Jennifer Daw, Senior Research Analyst at @safelives.bsky.social was our final speaker, and took the Group through the Verge of Harm(ing) Phase 2 research and resources on engaging young people.
We also had a contribution from Donna Mills, Specialist Team Manager within Norfolk Children’s Services and who is working with RYPS as part of the OPCC funded project across Norfolk to raise awareness of CAPVA, develop workforces and improve referral pathways.
We heard from Justine Dodds, Head of the Respect Young People’s Service (RYPS who gave us an overview of the work of the RYPS, which supports professionals to respond effectively to young people’s use of abuse in family & intimate relationships.

Earlier this week we held our All-Party Parliamentary Group on Perpetrators of Domestic Abuse meeting, chaired by Jess Asato MP.
In this meeting we discussed the issue of children & young people who cause harm to their parents & carers.
The report highlights the deep inequalities in health commissioning & a joint letter to the Secretary of State of Health and Social Care has been signed by organisations across the VAWG sector, mental health & racial justice sectors, setting out the changes needed to respond the reports’ findings.
Respect welcomes @imkaanuk.bsky.social's new campaign, ‘Out of Sight, Out of Mind.’ It calls on the Government to address the inequalities in the commissioning of therapeutic support for Black and minoritised survivors from specialist by and for VAWG services.
