straight SOLELY to make her the main character's love interest. That was SO gross.

Oh my god actually that made me remember. Netflix did a 1 season adaptation of a podcast I listened to called Archive 81. Wasn't my favourite podcast, especially the second season, but not only did they change the plot signficantly, but they took a lesbian character from the podcast and made her

At that point I wonder if it's even an adaptation. Like The Princess and the Frog is not an adaptation of ED Baker's The Frog Princess, really. It's inspired by it and, you know, lawsuits.

Though I will say. The iZombie show is INFINITELY better than the comic.

I find it easier if I haven't read the book first XD I hold deep, deep grudges about most adaptations I watched as a kid based on books I'd read. Except the made for TV A Wrinkle in Time, which was terrible but nostalgic.

Oof, I've read books that I think did that and they weren't good.

It's one of those things where it could be an okay thing on its own but it's so far removed from being an adaptation that it's not the same thing at all anymore.

Oh right Canadian.

So from what I remember, it was not the worst TV show ever for a police procedural. But it took a YA series about a girl avoiding the government and finding missing children with her psychic powers and made it... a police procedural about the FBI.

Don't forget about the Missing TV show based on the 1-800-Where-R-U books

The problem with this is it's 15C and I'm like, "I need to pick some Christmas books to read this year. Oooh and Halloween!"

Honestly I think those are only not recommended because it feels bad. If it was that easy to cause brain bleeds you'd die from driving on gravel roads.

That's total BS. There's some studies that show that vibration can help with sinus congestion and anecdotally a lot of people find some relief with it.

Today is cool.

"Dirty" "unclean" "diseased" etm has been used to dehumanize BIPOC for centuries. "Clean" is used to sanitize everything ethnic, queer, nonXtian, & "foreign" for the haole Xtian gaze while leaning on bigotry to demonize food, language, politics, religion, sex/sexuality/romance, gender. /1

No, it's an age category. It's not a genre. Genres are like contemporary, horror, science fiction. YA is an age category, ages 12-18. Like how middle grade and adult are age categories.

In books, YA means books aimed at ages 12-18. So mostly no.

It's the same mindset of people who push "clean" eating. If the opposite isn't dirty, what means it "clean"?

Just to be clear, every YA author and publishing professional worth their salt hates this condescending bullshit.
