Oil companies have known that fossil fuels would cause heatwaves like this. They ran their own climate models. The science was clear.
Instead of listening to it, they buried the truth.
Now, we’re the ones paying the price.
First, Toyota donated $1 million to Trump's inauguration.
Then, Trump's CFPB said they don't have to pay $40 million in customer refunds anymore.
And now, Trump's DOJ closed its investigation into allegations of Toyota bribery.
Our government is up for sale.
Big Oil has known for over 50 years that burning fossil fuels would cause "globally catastrophic harms."
Those are their own words.
And yet they kept burning.

2. Insurers abandon CA.
3. CA makes concessions to insurers to lure them back ... but fails to stop them from supporting fossil fuels.

It's bad that they're ignoring the root of the problem. They should require insurers to stop supporting fossil fuels.

A vanishingly small percentage of voluntary offsets are legit.
Besides, the better move is to avoid creating more carbon pollution in the first place.
The music industry needs a real leader on this.

Unfortunately, nearly all carbon offsets are a sham.
A revolutionary thing you could do: Find a way to really decarbonize touring - not w/offsets, but zero emissions. Others would follow your example if you'd blaze the trail.
I'm not going to call out this guy by name. But can anyone explain how someone who's not a troll could think "net zero by retirement" is clever?
The transition to clean energy is being driven by economics.

It's bad enough for @politico.com to run API ads. It should at least reject ones that are grossly misleading / nearly outright false. This "car ban" rhetoric is making its way to everyday people as "the EPA wants to ban your car and take it away." False and inflammatory -- and that's the point.
