Influence of culture, architecuture, buildings. And the impact on society -- e.g. fewer family interactions as we all disappear to different rooms.

A little pick-me-up The world seems up in the air (an understatement I know), and on a personal level it has been a challenging time.

I've noticed a few related things recently that stitched together might help as a little pick-me-up in these murky times. With all the talk on AI, we need to remember there are people here still. Going to give it a go and see what happens.

Can you spare a minute to help this campaign? Save Bute Park, Cardiff, for us all to enjoy - before it's too late.

Bute Park should be a park and not closed to the public for the profit of others: chng.it/DSVJ6mf6Jv

The more you look at it, the more the spending review looks like a bad deal for Wales in terms of rail.

Over 4 years Wales gets £348 million.

This is only £108 million (45%) more than spending on a single station in Leeds...

Brilliant ride by Simon Yates in the Giro. I love the Giro more than Le Tour. Far more magic in the Giro.

'Biological reality': What genetics has taught us about race As US President Donald Trump takes aim at the Smithsonian Institution for "anti-American ideology", Adam Rutherford examines what the science of genetics has taught us about race.

Race is a social construct. But what does that mean, and why do we say this? An explainer, in the wake of Trump being racist and wrong (pt 675)

Some moron over the road thinks their car sounds amazing as it makes a loud banging noise when they start it up. It reminds me of my old knackered lawn mower. I want to report it for noise nuisance.

Real shame the rental bike scheme was scrapped in Cardiff. A backwards step for a city that was supposed to be promoting active travel.

I understand lots of theft + vandalism but other cities manage - what lessons can be learned? Private cycle parking is risky, public transport is limited.

On street parking is terrible with car-centric society making people think they can park anywhere. Car owners would be upset the car was dented by a football. Councillors are too afraid to lose those votes, so that would be the next challenge.

Thanks, it was a shock. One week he seemed fine, the next week he wasn't.

We are in St Mellons, so the training site is around the corner!

We heard about a trainee guide dog foster scheme? Is that a true thing and where would we find more info?

I'm looking at smart lights for home, tried Philips Hue but it is very expensive. Tapo looks promising and a decent price for the same sort of functionality.

Just phoned up my insurance company about the renewal quote. Said I wasn't happy with the price and had some comparison site quotes. Hey presto, some discounts were found! Why do we have to go through this song and dance every year?

The most infuriating thing isn’t that Wales is treated as a non-country – it’s that we accept it | Will Hayward From the the Barnett formula to the humiliation of having an English ‘Prince of Wales’, you’d never catch Scotland allowing this treatment, says Guardian columnist Will Hayward

My latest Guardian piece.

Until I moved to Wales, I never knew how badly it was treated.

Working at a journo it became clear that not only is Wales treated like less of a country than Scotland, but that it has come to just accept this poor treatment.

Congratulations to all the Mo Bros and Mo Sistas out there doing amazing things this month. This is as close as I got to a hairy upper lip this year, but I'll be back.

Stay safe and look after yourselves and each other. xx
