So if Iran decides to blockade our blockade of their blockade, we will just have to blockade their blockade of our blockade blockading their blockade.

I don't know why this is so hard for some people to grasp. If we extend our use of fossil gas, rather than going all-out for grid batteries, heat pumps and induction hobs, we extend our dependence on *foreign* sources of gas, regardless of whether we also use the UK's last remaining reserves. 🧵
“Brexit betrayal” - oh for god’s sake..
Every day, we’re paying to be poorer. We’re paying to be second class citizens on our own continent. We’re paying to queue. We’re paying for more red tape. We’re paying to be less secure and less trusted.
Brexit IS the betrayal. And so is defending it.
👏
Hungary has chosen Europe.
Europe has always chosen Hungary.
A country reclaims its European path.
The Union grows stronger.
We have a president who took the nation into a war for reasons he cannot fully articulate, without a strategy for how to respond if Iran did the expected and closed the Strait of Hormuz, and without an exit strategy if Iran doesn’t surrender.
Reminder that Congress can step up and stop this.
Oh yeah!
Great news from Hungary. You know something's up when Trump and Putin supported Orban www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/c2...
Lying from the White House Podium is now a family tradition.
Ugh
🤮
After Vance visit and Trump support for Orban, Peter Magyar gained even more in the polls and is poised now to have a SUPERmajority in the parliament which means more than 66%
Foreign interference by a foreign active government does this. Great job Trump and Vance!
Times: "Tony Blair urges Ed Miliband: Don’t be ideological on net zero"
"Britain should produce more clean energy while accelerating domestic oil & gas production" - TBI
This would be a tad more credible if the Tony Blair Institute's clients weren't despotic petro-states like UAE & Saudi Arabia.
Today is election day in Djibouti 🇩🇯
Ismaïl Omar Guelleh, in power since 1999, will most likely be re-elected...
Yet, silence from many usual defenders of democracy.
Strange how that silence persists in a country hosting U.S., French, Chinese, Japanese, and Italian military bases. 🙃
NHK World confirms Japan has perfected a process to extract high purity lithium from dead batteries with a 90 percent recovery rate. Great
A cover of Charlie Hebdo dated April 8, 2026, featuring a caricature of Donald Trump depicted as a crying baby holding weapons, inside a red prohibition sign. The caption reads “NO KIDS.”
Charlie Hebdo doesn’t need ultimatums. It strikes every week. 💥
I look back at All the President’s Men, released on this day 50 years ago.
During production, screenwriter William Goldman said, “Expectations are so high on this movie that if the film is only good, it won’t be good enough.”
If only he was here to see how powerful it still is:

“The Christian nationalist right played a key part in the rise of Maga and Trump in the US. Figures such as James Orr, a Cambridge theologian and Reform’s head of policy, hope to perform a similar service for Nigel Farage”
Fascist bible-bashing for votes.
Peachy.

MSM, stop reporting on Trump like he's actually sane.
Trump has insulted and tariffed his European allies, persuaded Denmark to prepare for a US invasion and, by pressuring Ukraine and not Russia, encouraged Putin to keep fighting. All of which he has forgotten.

So inspiring
I agree, but it's not the King's decision, but the government's.

Think about this: A retired game show host may end the world as we know it. Only a master satirist could write this scenario, but Mark Twain is dead.
Newsflash, USA already pulled out most of the deterrence force from NATO bases closest to Russia like the Baltics and Romania.nothing changed in the security of the area. In the Eastern flank next to Russia, USA only has base personell and some 30+ interceptors for high altitude balistic missiles.
Unspoken in the Pentagon briefing or in Trump's earlier post is the fact - which foreign officials have repeatedly pointed out - that the Strait of Hormuz was open for commerce prior to the launch of the US-Israeli strikes in Iran a month ago.
After nearly 10 years of negotiations, the EU and Australia have reached a major free trade agreement.
Tariffs are cut, trade is set to grow, and cooperation expands on security, supply chains, and innovation. youtube.com/shorts/yJ40M...
The irony of history. 🌍 In 2025, Zelenskyy stood before Trump and warned: "One day you will need allies. One day you will need help." Trump laughed it off. In 2026, the same man is begging France, Canada, Spain and Switzerland for support in a war his own generals cannot explain.
